Master's degree in Chemical Engineering
This master's degree aims to take graduates beyond their bachelor’s degree and acquire a higher level of expertise in chemical engineering. Graduates will be highly trained in designing products and processes related to chemical engineering. They will also have a strong professional grounding because their work placement and master's theses will be conducted primarily in the chemical industry (i.e. in companies and organisations outside the university).
Graduates in the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering will be able to provide their leadership, management and entrepreneurial skills in:
- Industries such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and food processing
- Engineering companies (advising on new projects)
- Auditing (energy, environmental, etc.)
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Public administration
- Service sector and commercial sector
- R&D laboratories and institutes (public and private)
The profile of the ideal candidate is that of an engineering graduate in an industrial discipline, preferably chemical engineering, who wishes to work as a project leader.

(***) After checking the candidate’s transcript, the body responsible for admission can decide that the student must attend and satisfactorily complete some of the subjects that are programmed as bridging courses.
A university degree in Chemical Engineering or a similar field, or a university degree that qualifies graduates to practise the profession of Technical Industrial Engineer specialised in Industrial Chemistry or a similar field.
Apart from the compulsory documentation to pre-enrol to the programme, students must do submit the following documents: additional documentation:
- Letter of motivation
- Proof of knowledge of English (Level B1 or B2)
- Letters of reference (optional)
Pre-enrolled students will be selected according to the following criteria:
- Suitability of the admission qualification, up to 30 points. Qualifications will be graded according to the following scale:
a. A degree in the field of engineering and architecture: up to 30 points.
b. A degree in the field of sciences: up to 25 points.
c. Other qualifications: 0 points.
- Evaluation of the students' academic record in the university degree qualifying them for admission to the master's degree (average mark calculated as follows: Pass, 6; Good, 8; Excellent, 9.5; Distinction, 10): up to 30 points.
- Greater competence in English than required (B1): up to 10 points.
- University and country of origin: up to 10 points.
- Other training relevant to the content of the master's degree (courses, seminars or other training activities, for which proof must be provided) or professional experience: up to 10 points.
- Other criteria such as stays (at least 4 weeks, proof must be provided), motivation, a letter of recommendation or a personal interview: up to 10 points.
