The Master's Degree in Access to Advocacy is an official program whose objective is that the student acquires the necessary skills to obtain the title of lawyer, in accordance with the regulations governing access to the exercise of the profession *.

* Students who do not have a law degree in Spain, must prove prior approval of the homologation of said title.

Specialization with Double Master

In the time necessary to obtain the Master of Access to the Law, students who wish to obtain a second official degree, a Master's Degree in Business Law or Tax Advice, privileged areas of incorporation of young lawyers.

Practices managed by the Professional Careers Service

The Professional Career Service is dedicated, on the one hand, to generating opportunities through continuous contact with the most relevant law firms and, on the other hand, to providing the students with the necessary training to take advantage of them. In addition, students interact daily with professionals who have a high contracting power.

Clinical method

These are multidisciplinary cases solved in small groups and in real time. With this method of work the student is faced with situations that approximate the world of practice that prepare him for his effective incorporation in an office.

Excellent teaching staff

Coming from the Faculty of Law, IESE Business School and foreign universities, as well as tax consultancies, law firms, consultancies and legal departments of top-level companies.

Preparation for the bar exam

In addition to the classes and the final thesis, an intensive course to prepare the Advocacy Exam will be given.

Additional preparation

The curriculum includes 6 ECTS oriented to the management of professional services firms. With the objective that the student knows the business realities not only from a legal perspective, but from the own top management. All this at the hands of professors of the IESE Business School in Madrid and New York.


The curriculum informs about the subjects of the degree and its character (basic, compulsory, optional, etc.); of your credits. The subjects are gathered in subjects that in turn are integrated into modules.

The Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession is made up of 90 ECTS distributed in 5 Modules, it lasts one year and is face-to-face.


  • Module I: Collegial Legal Framework -3 ECTS-
  • Module II: The Lawyer's Figure -16 ECTS-
  • Module III: Acting the Lawyer -35 ECTS-
  • Module IV: Practices -30 ECTS-
  • Module V: Master's Thesis - 6 ECTS-

M ethodology

The program uses the case method as a teaching system, which consists in the resolution of real problems that entail the exhaustive analysis of the facts and the proposal of solutions and alternatives. To get the most out of it, the student is required to prepare each case individually and then discuss it as a team before attending the class discussion led by the teacher. It is a process that enriches learning due to the contributions of other classmates and the solution proposed by the teacher.


In addition to this, the following learning methodologies are also used:

  • Expositive classes of the teacher in which the fundamental points of the subject are fixed in order to prepare the student for practical subjects. The blackboard, computer, projections will be used for this purpose ... It is convenient that the student comes to class having prepared the corresponding materials, which will be available to him previously.
  • Discussion of problems raised by the professor and his public discussion. Prior personal work and organization of the discussion by work groups is required.
  • Discussion of cases. Through the analysis of real cases, students and teachers are involved in a process of in-depth discussion about the circumstances faced by a professional of business legal advice.
  • Simulation of professional situations. It is based on a similar assumption to those that are faced in the practice of the profession of the legal advisor so that the student, staff and group, adopt different roles and acquire the work habits that characterize the profession.
  • Master's thesis.
  • Tutoring Sessions with the teacher and / or with the tutor of practices.
  • Preparation of reports, writings, opinions and the like.

Double Master

The Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession can be completed together with the Master's Degree in Business Law or the Master's Degree in Tax Consulting, both official degrees at the same time (1 year and a half): Double Master's Degree in Access to Law and Business Law o Tax Advice.

Thus, on the one hand, the student obtains the mandatory title for the exercise of the profession and, on the other hand, specializes. With this formula, your profile is more attractive for specialized employers in the business legal advisory sector.

This sector employs around 1,000 junior lawyers (newly incorporated into the labor market) every year and offers these professionals transparency in terms of remuneration, training and professional career.


The purpose of the admission process is to achieve a homogeneous level in the whole of the promotion and identify those candidates likely to take the most advantage of the academic program.

It consists of a complete evaluation of the profile of the candidate, taking into account the academic merits accredited in the application for online admission, the result of the entrance exams and their adaptation to the requirements of the program.

Access tests do not require prior preparation and consist of:

  • Proof of legal knowledge.
  • English test (written test and personal interview), does not score; it is established as an essential requirement for access to the program.
  • Personal interview with the Director / Coordinator of the Master.

In order to perform the entrance exams, the application for online admission must be submitted in advance. Once the application is completed, the candidate will receive by mail the formal call to the tests. Below is the calendar of access tests available for this course.

Access profile

They are necessary requirements to take the Master in Access to Law:

  • Be graduates or graduates * in Social and Legal Sciences (Law, Administration and Business Management, Economics) or equivalent degree.
  • Accredit a level B2 of foreign language sufficient to face the master.

* Students who do not have a law degree in Spain, must prove prior approval of the homologation of said title.

The following characteristics will be specially valued:

  • Presenting intellectual restlessness and sufficient determination that will push them to develop the necessary tools to deepen legal knowledge.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for argumentation and ability to work, as well as ability to function as a team with enthusiasm and initiative.

The accreditation of academic activities or other titles related to the content of the Master that the candidate has previously made will be positively valued.


Admission can be requested from October 2, 2018 until the beginning of the corresponding master's degree course of 2019-2020.

To apply for admission, it is first necessary to register in the MiUnav Portal. Once inside the Portal, the candidate can request admission and attach all the documentation required by the master through the same form:

  • Cv.
  • Certificate of Undergraduate Studies (official or certified): Academic record *.
  • 2 letters of recommendation.
  • Motivation letter: you can write in the same application.
  • Proof of payment of € 100 in processing costs.

* Students in the last year of the race must submit the provisional file with the certified notes at the time of making the request.

International students

International students are exempt from the written tests, evaluating their profile based on the academic merits, interests and motivations accredited in the application for online admission, conducting a personal interview by Skype or other online media and its adaptation to the demands of the program.

The application for admission is completed online after registration on the intranet The personal interview will be called once the application for admission has ended.

The resolution periods will coincide with the dates of the admission tests detailed in the previous section, resolving all the requests that have been interviewed in each term.

Since the approval of the Law 34/2006, of October 30, on access to the professions of Lawyer and Attorney access to these professions necessarily requires the satisfaction of certain complementary requirements such as the realization of a Master of the characteristics of this and the passing of a final evaluation test called by the Ministry of Justice.
