Objectives and interest of the MasterThis master's degree, recognized as an official master's degree and endorsed by several Spanish universities, proposes a specific training program at the university level in organic production and aims to train technicians and professionals in this field, responding to a growing demand from the sector.
It has been designed to approach knowledge from a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating, to the agronomic vision, and in general of Natural Sciences, the contributions of Social and Legal Sciences and even Humanities.
Who is the Master aimed at?Qualifications that give access to the master's degree: Agronomic Engineering, Veterinary Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography as well as all those related to systems of sustainable management of agricultural and forest resources, especially in ecological production, development rural, territorial planning, conservation of natural spaces and others related to agrarian sustainability.
All technical engineering related to agriculture, livestock or forestry, especially agricultural technical engineers and technical forestry engineers, also have access to this master.CurriculumThe student must take a total of 60 ECTS on the subjects listed in the following academic structure:Teacher Training (48 ECTS)Module 1. Design of Sustainable Agroecosystems I: Herbaceous and horticultural crops.
Design of Sustainable Agroecosystems II: Woody crops of dry land and irrigated land.
Principles and management of feeding in organic livestock.
Animal health and welfare.
Design of Sustainable Agroecosystems III: Production of ruminants.
Design of Sustainable Agroecosystems IV: Production of monogastrics.
Ecological Beekeeping and Aquaculture.
Agroindustry in organic production.
Agricultural and Agroindustrial Waste. Composting processes and production of biofertilizers.Module 3. Socio-economic / institutional aspects.Certification and quality criteria in the agri-food system.
Economics of organic production and marketing.
Planning and evaluation of the agroecological transition.Final Master's Project (12 ECTS)Faculty profileApart from the body of professors that the universities involved already have, prestigious national and international professors and researchers will be invited to give seminars, conferences and sessions in each of the subjects included in the master's degree. Likewise, qualified technicians from the competent public administrations in the field of this master will be invited to participate. For this, agreements have been reached with the Junta de Andalucía and with the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs.MethodologyA plural methodology is adopted where different types of teaching are combined in a balanced way:Instructor or Teacher-centered model (face-to-face teaching);
Models focused on the development of knowledge (collaborative learning, online);
Models focused on acquiring skill (learning by doing), in such a way that they harmonize the theoretical development classes by the teacher with the work by the student.
