Masters in Mathematics

The University of Verona (Italy) offers a two-year (120 ECTS) Master's degree programme (Laurea Magistrale) in Mathematics taught in English, designed according to the standards of ECMI (European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry). It is one of the six Masters taught in English at the University of Verona.

The programme has a strong international flavour, with many classes held by international visiting faculty. It offers modules in pure and applied mathematics, with a special attention to financial mathematics and applications of mathematics in other sciences. The approach is interdisciplinary and involves researchers from physics, computer science, life and health science, economics.

There is also an exchange programme with the Master's degree programme in Mathematics of the University of Trento, allowing students to attend courses and modules offered by that university, and there are bilateral agreements with several European universities taking part in the Erasmus programme.

Students having completed this programme will be able to work in banks and industry, to collaborate with other scientists in interdisciplinary research teams, or to apply for a Ph.D. programme (for instance the Joint Ph.D. Programme in Mathematics by the Universities of Trento and Verona).

There is also the possibility to follow a profile in foundations and teaching of mathematics (partially taught in Italian) that prepares for high school teaching.

Target students have a Laurea Triennale or an equivalent foreign degree (Bachelor's degree), with a strong basic training in Mathematics.
