Master's in Graphic Design
Due to the increase in channels of communication and information exchange, the demand for graphic designers has increased exponentially. Graphic Design is a discipline whose aim is to create and convey messages through images. For this reason it shares some fundamental elements with many other artistic and communications disciplines. Nonetheless, it requires specific training which encompasses the use of specialized graphic design tools and the transformation of a message into a concept and a graphic composition which responds to a request.
This master's offers training on the essentials to be a graphic designer. With a multidisciplinary rather than specialized focus, it provides an overview of the different areas of design: corporate image, advertising, editorial design, packaging and web design. In conjunction with these areas are the tools and resources used by designers: typography, photography, illustration, and the history of art and infographics.
GENERAL AIMS OF THE TRAINING
To provide a solid base in idea conceptualization and project development of different subjects as well as training in the necessary tools to carry out these projects.
With a practical focus based on technical principles and case analysis, the final objective of this master's is to offer all the tools and knowledge necessary to manage a graphic design project.
This course is organised around 3 modules that complement each other and are taught simultaneously throughout one academic year. The course is completed upon handing in the Final Project. Each module consists of several subjects.

Qualification: Master's in Graphic Design accredited by the Universidad de Vic-UCC. Students without university degrees will receive a University Extension Studies Diploma.
Credits: 60 ECTS
School period: From October 19th 2015 to May 2016. Final Project Presentation: June 2016
Timetable: Mondays to Thursdays from 16h to 19h

Access: Graduates. Undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts and Design, and those related to the following professional categories: interior design, graphic design, industrial design and arts applied to clothing. Professionals from the sector without specific training but who can demonstrate professional expertise. Applicants will undergo a selection process for acceptance on the course.
Observations: Intensive Spanish course for foreign students willing to apply to the Master degree (optional course). From Sept. 10th to October, 2nd; from Monday to Friday (4h/day) – 395€.
