This course is designed to appeal to anyone working in an education role who is keen to broaden their professional development. The course has a wide variety of modules designed to suit teachers, teacher trainers, managers, administrative and service personnel and opportunities to research specialist areas.

Learning and Assessment
Assessments will include critiques, research proposals, research-based assignments, seminars, case studies, action-research projects, critical analyses, reflective accounts and presentations. The module assessments are intended to develop the students’ practical knowledge and theoretical understanding of their subject and of educational contexts.
Career and progression opportunities
Graduates are likely to commence doctorate level study or and will be equipped to engage in research activity in the sector. This course supports career progression for those moving into management roles, seeking more senior roles in education or considering a move into teacher education roles.
This is a post-graduate qualification and we would expect all applicants to hold an honours degree in an appropriate area or substantive experience which has been assessed as equivalent. Some applicants will also hold a teaching qualification at level 6 or 7. All candidates will be assessed on their readiness to work at Level 7. All potential students are interviewed, are given an assessment task and given advice and guidance on their suitability for the course with appropriate access routes identified. Applicants who have already achieved a Postgraduate Certificate of Education at Level 7 or a DELTA qualification may be able to claim credit points. Other claims for previous learning and experience will be assessed at initial interview, and advice provided as to appropriate route. All applicants will complete an interview and written tasks before acceptance on programmes.
