Master's in Branding and Packaging Design
The Master's in Branding and Packaging Design (60 ECTS) is obtained by completing two postgraduate degrees, for 30 ECTS each. These postgraduate degrees may be completed in the same academic year, or in different years. All postgraduate courses that are part of a master's degree can be taken independently.
Nowadays, companies are much more than simply the products they offer but the total sum of the value of the company, in which we can include the services they offer, the people who work for them, the communications they make as well as where they make them, and, of course, their culture. In the current climate, Branding is now even more important. Only brands that have been managed with a clear strategy will stay ahead of the plethora of other brands and products.
Branding does not only involve the visual aspect: it is a question of managing how the brand wishes to be perceived. This implies working on all its attributes, not only its graphical presentation, and must include all those contact moments when the brand is interacting with its audience. Branding is the most effective way of getting through to the consumer and establishing a relationship between that consumer and the brand that is both rational and emotional.
This postgraduate course is for students or professionals with proven experience, who wish to specialise in the design of brands and the development of their needs of expression.
GENERAL AIMS OF THE TRAINING
Introducing the designer to the process of building a brand, from the initial concept to naming, its graphic representation and the different applications.
The course deals with three main areas: brand strategy and management, creative tools used in their development, and projects concerned with brand building. Each of these areas will be developed throughout the course, in different modules which combine theoretical and practical training.
Occasionally, there will be lectures from experts on key aspects and extremely topical issues as a complement to the training provided in the postgraduate course, which is completed upon handing in the Final Project.
Module I – Brand Strategy and Management.
Module II – Creative Resources.
Module III – Projects on brand building (5 workshops).

Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Brand Design accredited by the Universidad de Vic-UCC. Students without university degrees will receive a University Extension Studies Diploma.

Access: Graduates. Undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts and Design, and those related to the following professional categories: interior design, graphic design, industrial design and arts applied to clothing. Professionals from the sector without specific training but who can demonstrate professional expertise. Applicants will undergo a selection process for acceptance on the course.
Observations: Intensive Spanish course for foreign students willing to apply to the Master degree (optional course). From Sept. 10th to October, 2nd; from Monday to Friday (4h/day) – 395€.
