Modern financial management requires more and more knowledge about the tools and techniques of business analytics.

A combination of strategic finance and business analytics is required to meet the needs of forward-going businesses wanting to make fact-based decisions in a competitive business landscape.

In this Master's programme, you will study strategic finance and business analytics. You will acquire interesting and relevant skills enabling you to work in various management positions in an international business environment.

The content of the programme is based on the theories and concepts of financial economics and corporate finance. You will acquire practical decision-making skills and analytics know-how that will help you to build a sound base for a career in financial management.

Intended Learning Outcomes

After completing the programme, you will be familiar with the main theories and concepts of finance and international financial markets.

You will be able to:

  • describe and examine the main theories and concepts of finance and international financial markets;
  • understand the supporting role of information technology in business and decision-making and evaluate its possibilities;
  • understand the use of information technology in business development and transformation;
  • demonstrate analytical financial and business skills in practice;
  • conduct an independent scientific research project, report on it and present it professionally.

Degree structure and studies

The Master's Programme in Strategic Finance and Analytics is a two-year programme. It leads to the degree of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, M. Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Admin.), which is 120 ECTS credits.

The programme includes core and specialisation studies in finance and language studies.

Core studies (78 ECTS credits) include courses on strategic finance (44 ECTS credits) and analytics for finance (34 ECTS credits).

Specialisation studies (36 ECTS credits) include a special course on real options and managerial decision-making.

The Master's thesis, 30 ECTS credits, is a part of specialisation studies. The thesis is a research project, which requires approximately six months of full-time work. Students complete it during their fourth semester.

Language studies, 6 ECTS credits.
