Computer Networking

A masters is earned after students complete an undergraduate degree program. To obtain a masters, you usually need to complete 12 to 18 college courses that often involve completing comprehensive tests and/or a thesis.

A computer networking program often includes topics such as the theoretical concepts behind computer networks, software, hardware and configurations. Students may develop an understanding of program designs and the differences between the most common networks. These programs may also include some hands-on opportunities.

Europe, one of the world's seven continents, is usually known as the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia. Second smallest continent, with 10,180,000 (km2), the area regroups 50 countries.

The objectives of the 2nd Cycle Degree Course (Master Degree) in Information Technologies for Telecommunications Engineering held at the University “Mediterranea” of Reggio Calabria concern the acquisition of skills and capabilities in the field of computer science, information technology and telecommunication systems. In particular, the emphasis is on designing and implementing systems and (multimedia) applications in complex network-based environments. This objective requires to deal with the distributed nature of information systems with attention towards all the aspects of software engineering included computer security , and also with aspects related to the underlying telecommunication problems. This leads to the identification of the two alternative curricula, namely (1) Wireless Networks and Systems and (2) Computer Networks and Applications, which can be chosen by students on the last semester of the course. Therefore, the main strength of the degree program is to mix various skills of Information and Communication Technologies in such a way that the study of computer science, computer networks , wireless systems , high-tech communication systems, trains professionals able to easily move across different technological areas of the information society , which is inherently interdisciplinary . Curriculum: Computer Networks and Applications First year Electromagnetic Fields II Environmental Data and Signals Processing Modern Physics for Engineers Web Engineering Information Security Mathematical Methods for Engineering and Queue Theory Multimedia Communication Systems Radio Mobile Systems Second year Enterprise Information Systems Antennas and radiopropagation in complex environments Advanced Personal Communication Systems Additional Educational Activities 12 ETCS chosen by the student (4 ECTS must belong... Through its compulsory courses, the study program covers the field of e-business and offers acquisition of basic competences at graduate level, while through elective courses of this sub-specialization, students are able to specialize within the field of advanced network technologies, computer security, forensics, data warehouses and business intelligence. From the perspective of students, the study program is comprised of 18 courses, of which 8 compulsory and 10 elective courses, that are largely predetermined by the choice of a particular sub-specialization. Elective courses related to this sub-specialization belong to two groups with one course of the first group being taught in each of the first three semesters, while two courses of the second group are taught in the first two semesters and three courses in the third semester. Elective courses are determined by the particular sub-specialization and students are typically offered to acquire necessary knowledge and skills for specialization in a particular narrow area through groups of three logically continued courses (from the first to the third semester). Students enroll in the next year of study in the summer semester, and enrolment in the winter semester of the same year is performed automatically. The obligations of students for each particular course are determined by the teacher in charge of the course and announced before the beginning of classes within the digital student service system.
