The Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP) provides a detailed and systematic understanding of how political institutions, processes, and public policies operate and interact from the global political economy to national and local levels with a direct focus on European engagements at these levels of governance. The program is delivered by four top-ranked European universities: Central European University (CEU), Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI - Spain), the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Hague (ISS - the Netherlands), and the University of York (UK). Until the graduation of the 2016-18 student cohort, the program runs under the European Union's prestigious Erasmus+ Erasmus Mundus Programme. Mobility tracks involving CEU in the first year of Mundus MAPP offer two different specializations: Applicants who wish to pursue a career in international civil service, voluntary organization, or global industries may be attracted to the CEU-IBEI track specializing in Global Public Policy. In this track there is an emphasis on policy making and problem solving in a range of international contexts (from the strongly institutionalized European policy regimes to the broader and less institutionalized global regimes). The School of Public Policy (SPP) at Central European University (CEU) offers a one-year Master of Arts in Public Policy (one-year MAPP) degree program that seeks to provide students a solid foundation in theories, which contribute to our understanding of the design, development, and reform of public policies in different institutional contexts, and at various levels of governance. The one-year MAPP program provides students with a solid grounding in key themes of public policy and policy analysis as well as practical and issue-oriented knowledge that will prepare students for their future roles as policy-makers, advisors, and analysts in governmental and non-governmental organizations. Through the courses included in the mandatory core curriculum, students will gain a detailed and systematic understanding of how policy-making processes are shaped and influenced by both actors and political institutions, and how public policies operate and interact from the global political economy through to national and local levels.
