The Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences views health data analytics as to the wave of the future in public health and medicine. We recognize the need to educate and train students in practical application of health data analytics (big data, big data science, data mining, and data warehouse technologies) to real-world problems in public health and medicine to meet an immediate and rapidly increasing demand for professionals with these critical knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs).

As an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (A-GACNP), you'll be qualified to diagnose and treat patients with critical illnesses and complex conditions. You'll be trained to manage chronic issues in adults and older adult patients and be prepared to guide patients in improving their overall health and preventing and treating disease. Our program is offered in both full- and part-time settings through an online or hybrid/Flex format. Students have the opportunity to complete clinical requirements in nationally-ranked clinical facilities throughout the Lehigh Valley

As change agents in the health care system, a CNS is instrumental in addressing issues of quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness in healthcare systems. The CNS interacts with the health delivery team in care delivery, staff development, and research in order to promote evidence-based care in the select population. The CNS drives practice changes on a systems level with the intention of achieving the best patient outcomes.

Whether you are an advanced practice nurse (nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist or nurse midwife) or a nurse administrator, this degree will prepare you for leadership roles in evidence- based practice and to fully implement emerging science and practice innovations in health care. The online post-master’s DNP nursing administration option is available for master's-prepared nurses.

The nurse anesthesia program is a 36-month, 94-credit course of study that awards a Doctor of Nursing Practice. The program prepares you to sit for the nurse anesthesia national certification examination. Upon receiving certification, you will be prepared to work as a nurse anesthetist with a full scope of practice.

Samford's online Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics (MSHIA) prepares information systems professionals, health care managers, health care support personnel, pharmacists and other clinicians to use health information, effectively analyze, interpret and present health care data to improve quality and patient safety, outcomes, and cost-effectiveness of health care delivery.

The MSc in Aging and Health has been designed to be completed at a distance by working professionals.
