La Universidad para la Paz (UPAZ) ha venido desarrollado un conjunto de programas de maestría y de cursos cortos en idioma inglés de forma exclusiva. Sin embargo, desde hace ya 2 años, la demanda por cursos en idioma español en el área de los estudios de Paz, Desarrollo y Derechos Humanos, ha impulsado a la Universidad a ofrecer algunos de estos programas de manera paralela a sus programas de maestría. Estos cursos han conseguido un importante interés, el cual se ha traducido en un número considerable de participantes.
