Philosophy

A master's degree is a postgraduate academic degree. One must already have an undergraduate degree to apply for a master's program. Most master's degree program would require students to complete a master's thesis or research paper.

Courses and programs in philosophy challenge students to reason innovatively and think critically. By doing so, they can learn how to deepen their understandings and knowledge of a wide range of areas and solve problems creatively and efficiently in industries such as business, public service and law.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom and Britain, is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast of continental Europe. The two most famous (and oldest) universities are Oxford and Cambridge (often referred to as Oxbridge by many Britons) England also has several other world-class institutions, including several in London (notably Imperial College, the London School of Economics, University College London and King's College London, all are part of London University)

This two-year full-time (three to four years part-time) in-depth study is for students considering further research in the subject. The deeper grounding in philosophy than the MA Philosophy will allow you time to think out a PhD topic should you wish to progress to a research degree.

The MPhilStud provides in-depth knowledge of three areas of philosophy as well the opportunity to engage seriously in philosophical research by writing papers, by presenting one’s own work in research seminars and by writing a thesis.

Upon completion of MPhilStud, you can apply directly for the PhD which is ordinarily completed in a quicker timeframe than those without an MPhilStud.
