The study of organizational psychology seeks to impart knowledge of behavior in organizational settings through the systematic study of group, individual and organizational processes. Organizational psychology applies science to acquire understanding of the behavior of an employee in the employment context. It then focuses on developing techniques as well as the skills to foster the well being of the employees and increase the organizational effectiveness. The modern organizational setting calls for managers and leaders who understand the need to promote teamwork among the organization’s workforce, management of transitions and the restructuring of organizations. The masters program emphasizes on the study of the behavior of workers in a business environment. Through the program, students are able to determine ways of improving performance and productivity within an organization. The program provides the students with a theoretical framework relating to organizational behavior and the students are tasked with coming up with programs to improve their skills in data collection, research design, analysis, facilitation, group and organizational issues.
