Natural Sciences

A master's degree is a postgraduate academic degree. One must already have an undergraduate degree to apply for a master's program. Most master's degree program would require students to complete a master's thesis or research paper.

Natural sciences programs can allow students to explore occurrences in nature through observation, prediction and experiments. Various topics may be touched upon, and students may specialize in areas such as biology, ecology, astronomy, physics, chemistry and Earth science.

UK, United Kingdom is more than 300 years old and comprises four constituent nations: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The UK has been a centre of learning for the past 1,000 years and possesses many ancient and distinguished universities. Foreign students make up a significant proportion of the student body at UK universities.

Best Masters in Natural Sciences in United Kingdom 2017/2018. The biological sciences can be defined as the study of living things. In general, it covers how all living things from the smallest microorganisms to larger plants and animals live and interact with each other. It tends to focus on the structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution and taxonomy of living things. Study in the area of biological sciences is available in the UK at both the bachelor and master’s level. One of the beauties of pursing this course in the UK is to develop a more specific and personalized subject focus than you would normally be able to do in Latin America. Studying your degree in the UK will also give you a valuable and unique perspective from your peers. Several of our partner universities also offer work experience with certain companies within their degrees to set you apart and help you gain more experience in your chosen field. At the postgraduate level a major in the biological sciences can cover a host of specialities even if your undergraduate degree did not have the same specialization. Some of the taught postgraduate courses on offer include, but are not limited to the study of infectious diseases, biotechnology and bioengineering, cancer biology, drug design, plant genetics and crop improvement, molecular medicine as well as ecology and conversation. Many of our partner universities also offer masters by research in which the student is given a short introduction and completes a research projects to achieve... [-]

MPhys in Mathematics and Physics

The University of Warwick, Department of Physics

Mathematics and physics are complementary subjects and make a sensible combination to study at university. There are many examples of unexpected discoveries resulting from interaction between the two disciplines. Ideas developed in particle physics have led to advances in topology - one of the purest branches of mathematics. Advances in the understanding of chaos provide another example. Ideas from the theory are being applied increasingly in the modelling of complex physical systems such as the atmosphere and lasers. [+]

The Warwick joint courses (BSc and MMathPhys) are now among the best-established in the country with around 50 students starting each year. The courses include a significant proportion of modules from both contributing departments designed primarily for joint degree students. It is possible at the end of the First Year to transfer to either of the single subject degrees. Years one and two are common to the two courses. Warwick is strong in research in a number of branches of mathematics and physics, and is well-placed to offer accounts of those developments likely to be of most interest to joint degree students. These include non-linear systems (there are modules on the weather, modelling of biological systems, and complexity theory) and theoretical physics. Please download the course booklet for more information. The modules are listed below and more detailed desriptors of their content is given in the links above. THE FOUR YEAR DEGREE (MMathPhys) The four-year version of the degree should appeal most to those who are thinking of a career which makes... [-]

Best Masters in Natural Sciences in United Kingdom 2017/2018. Physics aims to observe and explain the behaviour of the physical universe. In particular, physics looks for basic laws, which account for and predict what can be observed. Part of the appeal of the subject is that the physical world is governed by remarkably few such laws and that these apply everywhere and to everything. The structure of the courses reflects the structure of the subject. All students take the core modules and choose further modules from the lists of options. The core modules introduce the fundamental principles, while the optional modules explore their applications in the different areas of physics including: astrophysics, the properties of matter, particle physics and atmospheric physics. The option scheme also allows a proportion of modules to be taken from outside of physics. We encourage students not only to consider modules related to physics, for example in computing, but also modules in philosophy and modern languages. Please download the course booklet for more information. Below is a list of the individual modules in each year and more detail on their content can be found by following the links above. THE FOUR-YEAR DEGREE COURSE (MPhys) Students can opt for the four-year version of the degree. This has been designed primarily for students who are thinking of a career which makes substantial use of their knowledge of Physics. The first two years are the same as for the BSc. YEAR THREE MPhys Core: Quantum Physics of Atoms, Electrodynamics,... [-]
