In the second year, students choose a specific focus: research-oriented, professional or teaching. Whichever focus the student chooses, he will devote a signigicatn amount of his second year to preparing a thesis with one of the research labs in the Institute of Chemistry or with an associated laboratory (biochemistry, molecular biology, toxicology, pharmacy,...).

Students who wish to finish their studies quickly can opt for a one-year Master's programme. It does not allow further studies (doctorate) and may not qualify you for certain jobs.
