On the one hand, help the student to acquire deep knowledge in the field of specialization through (a) the monitoring of educational courses in an advanced level, (b) study the relevant literature, and (c) interaction with Faculty and other students. On the other, the program aims at fostering research skills through (a) the monitoring of specific quantitative and qualitative research courses, (b) small scale investigations in the various courses and / or drafting Master Thesis, and (c) participation in seminars / conferences research content.
The Master's Degree programme offers cultural preparation and high-level professional training in the area of mathematics and induces the ability to set up and solve complex problems, even in operational settings, suitable for a managerial placement in the job market. The language of the course is English.
Students may choose between three specialities; algebra, analysis/differential geometry or applied mathematics. Some of the special fields include cryptography, number theory, elliptic curves, algebra, differential geometry, complex analysis, non-linear waves and dynamical systems. In applied mathematics thesis topics may relate to plasma physics, optics, mathematical ecology and bioinformatics.
