It provides an informed knowledge of the marine environment, its resources, technical study and exploitation, pollution problems that we encounter and are appropriate intervention methods.
The research project and the courses help to deepen their knowledge in one of four areas of specialization:
Fluency in oceanography allows for a research project (27 credits memory) to deepen his knowledge in a specialty area of science of the sea.
From their first term, students participate in an oceanographic expedition on the research ship Coriolis II in the Experimental Oceanography course. The program also includes a general oceanography courses and two elective courses whose topics vary according to student research project.

Chemists are interested in chemical processes in water and marine sediments. Their research particularly affect:
the origins and fate of the chemical constituents of ocean water;
chemical reactions that occur in the marine environment;
the effects of contaminants (organic or not) and their distribution;
gas exchange between the atmosphere and the ocean;
Biologists are interested organizations and living microorganisms in the marine environment, such as plankton, algae, crustaceans, molluscs, fish and mammals. Their research particularly affect:
trophic relationships between these organizations and the factors that may disrupt this relationship, such as climate change and pollution;
interactions and the evolution of species based on physical, chemical and geological parameters of the medium;
the influence of anthropogenic and natural disturbances on biodiversity;

Geologists are interested in the evolution of the seafloor, that is to say the nature of the sediments, the mechanisms of their implementation and the history of their accumulation. Their research particularly affect:

how sediment is transported, lifted and distributed to form islands and continents;
