The program, which offers the possibility of a double title with the University of Cordoba (Spain) and optional classes in English, grants an in-depth knowledge of biomolecular and evolutionary sciences. These subjects have undergone tremendous expansion in recent years, leading to ever increasing insights into topics as origin of life, nature of disease and development of individual organisms. The Master is structured in a common trunk and two paths: Molecular and Cellular Biology path: focuses on basic biology and its applications, with particular emphasis on biomolecules, cells, and tissues in normal and altered conditions and their mutual interactions. The course includes intensive laboratory training acquainting the student with powerful new techniques allowing the analysis of biological phenomena in precise molecular terms. Evolutionary Biology and Genetics path: it includes intense training activities and provides advanced knowledge about genomic structure and evolution in plants, animals, humans, ecosystems and populations, and how to use the acquired skills in areas such as science journalism, management and conservation of biological systems, statistical analysis of biological and genomic databases, and forensic genetics.
