The English Studies programme provides an excellent opportunity for students to acquire a specialist qualification in English Literature, Cultural Studies and Linguistics. It is a broadly interdisciplinary programme concerned with both the theoretical and empirical analysis of the role of the English language, culture and literature in modern society. The programme consists of three equally balanced blocks of general and subject-specific courses in linguistics, literature and culture.

The Eastern European and Russian studies program is devised to provide you with a deep and comprehensive knowledge of the region, including its political, economic, and cultural particularities, and to develop the academic and analytical skills that will enable you to analyze, evaluate and assess key political and social processes within this dynamic and exciting region of the world.

In this program, students become proficient in understanding and producing academic and media-oriented publications in the fields of English literature, socio-cultural history of the English language-based cultures (especially Great Britain, Ireland, Canada and Australia), applied and theoretical linguistics, mediating in English and their native language in specialised cultural, economic and political areas, teaching and transmitting knowledge concerning English literature and linguistics, and English language-based cultures and societies.

The primary purpose of this course is to provide specialized knowledge in the subject “Teaching German as a Foreign Language”, by the requirements of the field and the current needs of the labour market in Greece and internationally.

Our Modern Languages, Literature and Culture MA allows you to deepen your knowledge of one or more of the languages and cultures of the French-, German-, Portuguese-, and Spanish-speaking worlds. You’ll be able to choose from the widest range and largest diversity of modules in the UK. Their historical scope goes from the medieval to the contemporary and covers literature, drama, visual arts, film, philosophy, cultural memory, and history.

This programme aims to address the growing demand for translators with skills in translating technical texts and will familiarise you with the socio-cultural, linguistic and technical dimensions that characterise specialised multilingual material.

Our China and Globalisation MSc provides an introduction to the causes and consequences of China’s rise from comparative and global perspectives. It will equip you with the conceptual and research tools necessary for the critical analysis of China’s social, political, and economic trends, and support your understanding of Chinese public policies, business strategies and modes of international cooperation.

Our Language & Cultural Diversity MA examines the complex relationship between language and cultural diversity and will equip you with an advanced knowledge of the major approaches to linguistic aspects of culture. Through the course, you will develop the research skills and knowledge to support further study in empirical and applied linguistics.

MSc Russian and Eurasian Politics and Economics - the flagship degree programme of the King’s Russia Institute - equips students with the tools and perspectives needed to understand the processes of political, economic and social change that are continuing to reshape Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

The Master's course proposed by the Institute of Italian Studies presents a peculiarity that is totally unique with respect to the educational offer of the other Universities, because it is based on a study plan consisting of courses that, every year, are gathered around a specific theme: thematic unit that becomes a stimulus and a concrete opportunity for interdisciplinarity. It intends to offer its students the acquisition of a mature right of citizenship in the domain of the word, which will allow them to question the present, to consciously set out towards the future and, above all, to recognize their own uniqueness of persons.

The second level degree or Master of Arts in Comparative Canon and Ecclesiastical Law, issued from the FTL-USI, it stands out for the originality of the proposals compared to study courses of other universities, above all for the attention given to theological training in a comparative perspective.

The Master in Science, Philosophy and Theology of Religions was activated in 2006 at the FTL as part of the Re.Te Institute. (Religions and Theology), with the aim of training in the knowledge of religions and interreligious dialogue in an increasingly multicultural world. Since 2014, thanks to the collaboration with the USI eLearning Lab (eLab), the Master has also been activated in an online formula. Today this is the only available way of using its courses.

The master’s program in German language, literature and culture at the KRE imparts specialist knowledge in the areas of German literature, language and culture. Philologists who have excellent knowledge of German and who can master the professional challenges of the 21st century at a high intellectual level are trained here with continuously updated teaching focuses and methods. The language of the MA course is German throughout.

The objective of this two-year program (120 credits) is to train specialists in three areas: English Literature and Culture, English Applied Linguistics, Society and Culture of English-Speaking Countries.

The subject of the Academic Master program “Learning and Communication in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts” is the study of multilingualism and multiculturalism and the issues raised by these themes in a society which is today characterized more and more by mobility, migration and diversity.
