In 2002 the "Journalism and world literature" department was established for the purpose of organizing works systematically and efficiently in this field. The first head of the chair was I.Jafarov, the Ph.D. on philology, assistant- professor. In subsequent years, the Ph.D. on philology, assistant- professor S.Sura led to the chair from 2006 to 2013.
