International Studies

A masters is the first level of graduate coursework and can be obtained after you receive a bachelor’s degree. Earning a masters usually requires two years of full-time study, which amounts to 36 to 54 semester credits.

International studies is considered to be an interdisciplinary field that utilizes information from multiple frames of reference such as cultural, social, political, ethical and economical points of view. This can help students evaluate issues that can affect populations globally.

Turkey, officially the Republic of Turkey, is a transcontinental country, located mostly on Anatolia in Western Asia and on East Thrace in Southeastern Europe. Many Turkish universities (both public and private) are participating in pan-European student exchange programs (Socrates, Erasmus, and the like). Some also have agreements with non-European universities, too.

Besiktas is located at the Bosphorus, as one of Istanbul’s neighbourhoods. It has a long history, starting from before Byzantine times, and when it comes to education, a campus of Bahçesehir University is located there, along with Hacettepe University.
