International Relations

International relations is a field that deals with the relationships between large entities such as states, nations, multinational corporations and nongovernmental organizations. However, there tends to be a greater focus on big ideas such as terrorism and human rights.  

The Czech Republic, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country is bordered by Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the north. Its capital and largest city, with 1.3 million inhabitants, is Prague.

The programme provides students with an opportunity to explore advanced topics in international relations and European studies while honing skills related to researching, essay and reports writing, public speaking, and communication in English. While Master’s students in the IRES department often come from a formal international relations and/or European studies background, the department welcomes students from other disciplines and assists them in ‘catching up,’ ensuring that they are on par with their classmates.
