Human Security is a unique interdisciplinary Master’s Program and the first of its kind in Europe. Over your two years of study you will learn several approaches to human security and you will achieve a deep understanding of conflicts and ecosystems all over the world. You will learn to analyse and you will learn how to intervene in settings comprising complex and interwoven social, environmental, economic, and political factors. At the same time you will develop the ability to carry out an informed and critical analytical assessment of human and environmental safety by combining scientific theories with real-life experiences.

Thinking about these questions gives you a deeper insight in your discipline, be it physics, medicine, psychology, economics, history, or any other field of study. This unique Program of 60 ECTS gives you an additional master's degree in the philosophy of your field.

The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree is a flexible graduate program that allows you to design academic study around topics of interest to suit your career goals. Through this program, you can combine courses from across the UT Dallas campus or delve into one or more concentration areas.

As part of the interdisciplinary two-year master’s course, students can design their own curriculum based on their own research project, in keeping with “Liberal Education”. The master’s course offers an individual and goal-oriented course that can significantly shorten the desired doctorate afterwards.

Our interdisciplinary Mental Health MSc focuses on Youth Mental Health, integrating the latest research and policy into teaching and practice. Our MSc in Mental Health, with a strong focus on Youth Mental Health, is a unique qualification, bringing together several disciplines ranging from psychology, sociology, and social policy to medicine, philosophy, and education. This two-year programme (or four years part-time) will provide students with the opportunity to combine Masters’ level training with intensive Korean language study in order to acquire the skills necessary for future professional or research careers. The programme will enable students to engage with the subjects of their Masters’ programme in the context of Korea through Korean, to engage with primary Korean sources and data and to conduct research and professional work in Korea.

The Humanities Graduate Program provides post-baccalaureate students the opportunity to study the traditional humanities fields--philosophy, literature, history, music, and art--in the context of contemporary interdisciplinary topics, as well as in courses devoted to the methodology and current concerns of specific disciplines. Courses enable the critical evaluation of the visual and performing arts, as well as the ideas, cultures and individuals which have shaped our society. Program courses are designed around the theme of the city. Skills in advanced writing, research, and presentation are exercised in seminars and in a final research or creative project.

MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise acknowledges that we are living in a fast-changing, globalised world, which presents a great number of opportunities and challenges for cultural innovation. This Masters Program takes these changing conditions as a starting point to engage you in developing new knowledge and skills in the fields of arts management and cultural production. The course has been developed specifically in response to an increasing need for multi-skilled individuals who can both generate the ideas for original arts and cultural events, and provide leadership for the teams that realise them. These individuals will be dynamic, responsive, fluent in public and private sectors, and have the ability to collaborate and develop networks. The course addresses a contemporary shift within the cultural economy towards experiences and events, and away from the artefact. It is a response to multiple new forms of artistic and creative practice, which demand new, hybrid forms of cultural management and organisation.

The university master's degree in Music as an Interdisciplinary Art, which is taught at the Faculty of Geography and History, covers theoretical and practical aspects of music that are generally overlooked in the academic world: the association between music and cultural activities such as visual and audio-visual art and literary creation and classical or popular music concerts. This unique academic approach is combined with the opportunity to carry out placements in organizations and institutions involved in various aspects of music, to further the students' professional development.

The Master of Science in Administrative Studies is a cross-disciplinary program which features enhancement of administrative abilities with areas of emphasis in Applied Communication, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Environmental Management, Project Management, and Sports Management.
