MA Industrial Design adapts to these changes in business models and consumption patterns. On the course, you will question how and why particular goods and services are produced. We recognise the need for drawing on current thinking and practice in other discipline areas, including social psychology, behavioural science, cultural theory and innovation studies. The course does not impose a particular manifesto or rule-book for design. Instead, it is concerned with the development of industrial design as a discipline and profession.

Industrial design training combines a creative and humanities education with technical knowledge. The students are exposed to specific design tasks, which prepare them for cooperation with the industrial world and for independent design work. The Academy cooperates with many industrial plants, which enables the design concepts developed during the courses to evolve into prototypes and be presented to prospective manufacturers at industry exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

Students in this programme will conduct individual industrial design projects, participate in workshops and contribute to the creation of knowledge within the field of design. By organising exhibitions, seminars and workshops, you will communicate your work and participate in the public debate. Students will become authorities in their chosen subject and the programme encourages the in-depth debate and deliberation of the discipline. Upon completion of the programme, students will be well-prepared to continue these discussions as designers, entrepreneurs, design coordinators, managers or researchers. Alumni have gone on to successful careers at companies such as Google, IKEA, Sony, Tetra Pak, Husqvarna, Electrolux, H&M, as well as to PhD studies.

Industrial design is the youngest of the practical disciplines. In Poland, the industrial design grew out of the tradition of practical arts, establishing itself as an independent field in the late 1970s. Thus, by definition, industrial design is the design of the form and features of products intended to be marketed. Failure to recognize its uniqueness as compared to the other creative disciplines, too often leads to it being described as one of the practical arts and crafts, and consequently to it being wrongly understood by society in general.

The Masterstudio Design at the Institute Contemporary Design Practices (ICDP) is composed of three studios: Masterstudio Industrial Design, Masterstudio Scenography, Masterstudio Fashion Design. Each studio has a disciplinary focus. In addition, the research discourse of the ICDP focuses on Digital Integration, Design Cultures and Circular Design and are reflected and communicated multidimensionally.

The profession of an architect combines many creative and technical parameters. An architect in his activity in the design and construction of buildings and structures is individual and original, guided by harmony and beauty laws.

Among the priorities of the department is the formation of design thinking among students, capable of solving not so much momentary local tasks of aesthetic nature as looking into the future, approaching their activities in a systematic way, being able to see essential problems, find meaningful ideas and solutions. The design profession is one of the most dynamic. Therefore, in design education, teachers' own continuous practical experience is very important, which allows them to "keep their finger on the pulse", pick up current new trends and immediately broadcast them to students.
