As products become more intelligent and communicative, demands on them change. A product’s sense of value is now less that of the material and more of what it can do and what can be done with it.In the Industrial Design domain, students work with classic skills of sketching, marker drawing, 3D computer modelling and model making. However, students are also, to a greater extent, involved with concept development that, in more general terms, considers users in contexts of the future and the immaterial values that products bear with them. Hence, user-observation and interaction mapping have become core areas of the discipline.Industrial Design emphasises idea generation and visualisation as much as collaboration with industry and other professionals such as marketing experts, economists, engineers, sociologists and anthropologists.Industrial Design has an ongoing collaboration with a range of companies in both teaching and project development, amongst others Bang and Olufsen, Lego, Innovation Lab and Kildemoes....
