This innovative master’s degree in Digital and Public Humanities offers you a multidisciplinary study program focused on knowledge integration and the development of the advanced transversal skills required for the exploitation of the interconnections between the humanities and computer science.

In the Master's Program in Linguistic Diversity and Digital Humanities (LingDig), you get an understanding of the nature and diversity of human language and the theoretical and digital tools for working with language and speech. You may also focus on digital methods in other fields within humanities or on human cognition and artificial intelligence. The Program offers five fields of specialization: Cognitive Science, Digital Humanities, General Linguistics, Language Technology and Phonetics.

Are you interested in digitalization transformations in society and sustainable learning and communication? Do you want to be a frontline change agent in the design of current and future education? This program is based on frontline research in digitalization and education. In close collaboration with society, you will apply research to diverse educational settings, where the analytical focus will be on sustainable and ethically defendable learning designs. The programme works at the intersection of media, communication, and language from the perspectives of social sciences, the humanities as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The area covers how digitalization processes can be implemented in sustainable and responsible ways.

We live at a time when questions of climate justice, global migration flows, and militarized landscapes daily remind us of colonial pasts, and how they shape our world today. The master’s program in Colonial and Postcolonial Studies is tailored for you who seek to investigate and understand colonial practices of power and their manifestations in the past and the present.

The Master on Data Science for Social Sciences prepare students to: i) collect, manipulate and analyze large amounts of structured and unstructured data; ii) address problem formulation and design solutions, using models or computational systems, for concrete needs of companies and institutions and emerging societal challenges; and iii) understand of socio-economic phenomena and their territorial expression and the adequacy of decision support tools in the process of formulating, implementing and evaluating public policies.

The Master's Degree in Cultural, Intellectual and Visual History, delivered entirely in English, aims to provide students with a solid preparation that combines historical knowledge from antiquity to the contemporary age, rigorous methods, critical thinking and familiarity with digital technologies. For the first year classes will be exclusively “in-person”, while for the second year classes will be “online” with the exception of specific activities, i.e. laboratories, possible meetings with the thesis supervisor, tutoring activities, and educational trips.

The master's program in musicology is aimed at those of you with a bachelor's degree in musicology, the humanities or social sciences, or related disciplines, who have a budding interest in understanding more about music. The program prepares you for a career in doctoral research on music in academia, but also provides knowledge that can be used in a wide variety of music-related professions. E.g. working with data analysis in the media and music industries or working in the public cultural sector.

This 120-credit Master’s course, offered jointly by the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and Faculty of Theology and Sciences of Religions, offers an interdisciplinary approach to theoretical and methodological knowledge aimed at developing an informed and critical view of the uses of digital technologies and the discourse associated with them, alongside the IT skills appropriate for the needs of the human and social sciences. The knowledge and know-how gained during the course include a reflection on the issues of digital cultures in a disciplinary pathway.

This 120-credit Master course offered jointly in the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Theology and Religious Sciences offers, from an interdisciplinary perspective, theoretical and methodological knowledge aimed at building an informed perspective. and criticism of the uses of digital technologies and related discourses, as well as computer skills adapted to the needs of the human and social sciences. The knowledge and know-how acquired during this training integrate a reflection on the challenges of digital cultures into a disciplinary course.
