A masters degree in French is a post graduate degree program that trains students to do an in depth study of the French cultural artifacts. The masters program is an inter-disciplinary program and offers the students an interdisciplinary approach to the study of francophone culture and the French language. Upon completion of the Master's Program, students are expected to:
understand and demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills in the teaching of the French language: with particular regard to language teaching, to consider, select and use appropriate methods for effective learning of all language skills (production and comprehension of written and spoken discourse);
understand and demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills in the teaching of the French language: with particular regard to the teaching of structures and functions of the French language (phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics/vocabulary, and culture), to evaluate, adapt and develop suitable material;
design, develop and evaluate programs of studies in accordance with the most important theories in the fields of language, communication, and interaction, and to develop instructional materials for the teaching of the French language;
