A masters degree in French is a post graduate degree program that trains students to do an in depth study of the French cultural artifacts. The masters program is an inter-disciplinary program and offers the students an interdisciplinary approach to the study of francophone culture and the French language. In the early days of its inception, the Embassy of France and the department of its knowledge and co-operation paid special attention highly to this specialty and was equipped with specialty books, art books, technical facilities, audio-video cassettes, TV, video-tape and computers. The specialty of the French language operates about 19 years at the faculty of International Relations and Foreign Languages.Currently, 55 students study the French language in the I-IV courses. 9 teachers and a laboratory assistant work in the chair. 5 French teacher (two of them Ph.D on philology, a assistant-professor, two senior teachers, a doctor), 4 German teacher (3 senior teachers, a doctor). In 1998-1999 academic year, the specialty of German language was opened.
