Engineering Studies

Master-level studies involve specialized study in a field of research or an area of professional practice. Earning a master’s degree demonstrates a higher level of mastery of the subject. Earning a master’s degree can take anywhere from a year to three or four years. Before you can graduate, you usually must write and defend a thesis, a long paper that is the culmination of your specialized research.

Improvements made to manmade things such as tools, structures and machines are largely due to the efforts of people in the field of engineering. These people combine creativity with mathematics and worldly knowledge, resulting in innovation.

Master in Bio-Inspired Engineering

Learning from nature for engineering - that is the goal of this international Master's degree program (MSc) taught in English. Nature offers a myriad of solutions to engineering problems. Over the course of four semesters, this program focuses on the implementation of numerous nature-inspired innovations into new technologies and sustainable products and offers an exciting overview of all core areas of biomimetics.

Biomimetics is the process of utilizing natural constructions, processes, and developmental principles by transforming them into systemically engineered solutions that - without nature as a role model - we would not usually think of ourselves. While biomimetics as an interdisciplinary research field is still fairly new, it has four billion years of evolutionary mechanism optimization to show for. Considering the vast bio-cosmos' diversity and the complexity behind the necessary adaptations of systems to the environment, the tremendous potential that biomimetics has to offer to deal with the most pressing issues our society currently faces becomes evident. Through the symbiosis of a biological perspective on one hand and a natural science and engineering perspective on the other, this Master's degree program builds a cross-functional bridge founded on the graduate’s core competencies and hands-on experience.... Master's Degree in Integrated Management of Quality Systems, Environment and Safety and Health at Work (double degree)

AIDIMME

As happens in the business world, innovation is an essential tool to improve the competitiveness of organizations and people. [+]

As happens in the business world, innovation is an essential tool to improve the competitiveness of organizations and people. In this sense, in 2013 we decided that it was necessary after a decade teaching the Master in Systems Management, since 2007 as a University Master, adapting the structure of the title to the changes and needs that were being generated both in companies and in the profile of the graduates who enrolled in the master's degree.

As a result of this reflection, the new Double Master degree was created, promoted by the Metalworking, Furniture, Wood, Packaging and Afinex Technological Institute - AIDIMME and the Catholic University of Valencia - UCV. Degree consisting of two degrees that cover, on the one hand, integrated systems management and, on the other, the training of professionals for the exercise as senior technicians in occupational risk prevention. Divide the title that gives rise to the Double Master in these two areas, has allowed us to provide greater degree of specialization to students who take the double degree and more opportunities in the field of business practices....
