It introduces students to energy policy and presents it as one of the pillars of electricity and heat production in the Czech Republic. Graduates will be able to assess the choice of technology used in new energy sources according to criteria for maximum energy efficiency and minimum emissions. Students gain practical experience by contributing to the improvement of the cooperation of the Department and Faculty with various institutions and workplaces in the Czech Republic and abroad aimed at achieving a high level of expertise on the latest research equipment. All students deepen their knowledge of the theory of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and mass transfer and combustion, and study further on the construction and operation of the basic units of power equipment such as boilers, turbines, compressors, power stations, internal combustion engines and acquires of water management in energy, air and traffic control, diagnostics and maintenance in power. Students choose from one of the four specializations. For "Thermal power equipment and industrial power" possibilities include heat, nuclear power plants or the use of secondary sources of energy. For the specialization "Alternative energy and environmental technology" possibilities include ventilation and air conditioning, alternative and renewable energy sources and energy use of biomass and waste.
