Economics

A masters refers to the completion of a graduate study program that prepares students to further their knowledge of a specific subject or advance their careers. The majority of masters are granted by state or public universities.

Economics is a branch of social science that deals with the distribution, consumption, and production of goods and services. Economics is a derivative of two Greek words which mean “house” and “law,” and thus the subject deals with customs of good management.

Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088). There are three Superior Graduate Schools with "university status", three institutes with the status of Doctoral Colleges, which function at graduate and post-graduate level.

The Master in European Economic Governance (MEEG) aims to train full-fledged economists and experts in the field of European regulation and policy. Technical and analytical competencies acquired through the program are intended to form professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the European regulatory framework, who are adept at managing relations between national institutions, companies, and European institutions.

Almost all big and medium-sized firms operating within EMU member states entertain stable and continuous interactions with key European institutions. These interactions are often hindered by insufficient knowledge of the regulatory framework on the side of firms. On the flipside, European institutions often fail to factor in technical and country-specific instruments, causing them to inadequately assess the impact of their regulatory framework on the private sector. MEEG aims at training professionals who can see the complete picture and act as a vital link between national institutions, companies, and European institutions. After one year, MEEG students will earn an international master's degree (Master di II livello) in Economics.... [-]
