M.Sc. in Ecology and Nature Conservation program provides students with a theoretical background in ecology and evolution, with emphasis on biodiversity, community dynamics, and organism-level processes, combined with methodological knowledge, including statistics, mathematics, model development, and assessment procedures specific to nature conservation and management.

Climate change and environmental impacts resulting from land use, materials, chemicals, and energy are immensely complex issues, placing enormous pressures on the planet and our ways of living. When coupled with rapid social changes and developments in technology, economics, and environmental policy, the demand for expert knowledge and skills in these areas is vast.

In the Master's Program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, you can become familiar with a wide variety of topics in three areas: ecology, evolutionary biology and conservation biology. You can choose studies from any of these areas, as well as from other master's degree Programs. The Program is diverse and multidisciplinary: teaching is done with lectures, laboratory and computer training courses, interactive seminars, study tours and field courses. The field courses range from the northern subarctic region to tropical rainforests.

In the Master’s Programme in Ecology, you study how ecological interactions, human impacts, evolutionary processes, and the abiotic environment shape food webs, biodiversity and the functioning and stability of ecological systems. The programme focuses on boreal and arctic regions. You learn how to identify ecological problems, plan and execute research, and analyse ecological and genetic data. You can also specialize and obtain a master’s degree with a profile in environmental protection.

The European MSc Agroecology is a European program coordinated by ISARA and leading to a double degree between ISARA and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).

This master´s degree programme is offered to students interested in the environmental protection of all major components of the Earth, with strong focus on the role of sustainable agriculture and forestry in the soil, water and air preservation, and the application of environmentally friendly remedial technologies to improve their quality and properties.

This degree is geared to teach students rigorous methods that are needed by business and governmental organizations to deal with environmental issues. As an interdisciplinary program, it aims to give students the ability to predict environmental problems, not just solve them. It emphasizes core quantitative topics such as statistics, remote sensing, data analysis, and modeling. In addition, it teaches laboratory and computer skills and allows students to focus their education by taking electives in relevant fields.

The Natural Systems Management programme aims to provide students with the latest theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of ecology, for the successful preservation and recovery of our natural and semi-natural ecosystems. Students learn to assess the balance of terrestrial ecosystems and to propose decisions enabling sustainability. They will develop competencies in the use of inland waterways and terrestrial natural resources.

The goal of this program is to educate specialists for research, development, education, business, and the public sector to solve problems in modern biomedical sciences, environment, and ecology. You will gain a good knowledge of general principles of operation and pathology in live systems, the capabilities, and limitations of modern biophysical methods, principles of data analysis, and planning of the scientific investigation.

The Master's degree in Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution (BEE) offered in French by the University of Toulouse III Paul Sabatier aims to train professionals in ecological research, biodiversity management, and regional planning. Students enrolled in the BEE master's program (tracks GATE and EcoAnt) are eligible to join the Toulouse Graduate School of Earth and Space Science. The TESS Graduate School offers an enhanced, multidisciplinary study program focusing on the monitoring and management of global change. Selected students receive financial support for their mobility to Toulouse and international mobility during their studies. This advanced program is offered in English.

Water challenges and ecosystem restoration are highly relevant topics on the global agenda. The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Applied Ecohydrology (MAEH) focuses on finding and implementing solutions that ensure the sustainability of the uses and good ecological status of water and aquatic ecosystems, by merging ecohydrology with water engineering and integrated water management. MAEH graduates will have the holistic perspective and technical knowledge needed for solving the complex and multifactorial problems of water security and aquatic ecosystems sustainability, now and in the future.

This MSc in Ecology and Society has been designed in response to the currently recognized global need for Master's-level trained Ecologists to address local to international level environmental issues. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to characterize, understand, restore, manage and maintain the planet’s ecosystems.

The School of Ecology and Environment Studies offers M.Sc. in Ecology and Environment Studies. It is the first truly interdisciplinary School in India, and possibly in the East Asian region, combining knowledge from the basic sciences, social sciences, and humanities to train environmental leaders of tomorrow.

The educational objectives of the course Master in Marine Biology and Ecology aim to train a highly qualified and specialized professional figure capable of facing environmental problems with a strongly biological approach, but at the same time able to embrace all the ecological processes that are the basis of the production of goods and services that the marine environment offers to society.

Landscape patterns and land use change are important components for understanding ecological processes affecting biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services. As most political and economic drivers are expressed through human activities, having a landscape focus has recently been recognized as important to address many of our current environmental goals. Our education program builds on our research strengths in applied historical ecology, landscape analysis, and resource management, linking community ecology with restoration and management of both terrestrial and marine environments.
