M.Des. in Industrial Arts and Design Practices The future of ‘how, why and where things are made’ is rapidly changing with new technologies and possibilities emerging every day. What does this mean for the designer of the future? How can we use the power of new technologies along with the unique tradition of making we have in India to create a new language in design and art? We facilitate design and art professionals of the future, who can work in multiple contexts, make complex connections, lead and manage change. We facilitate and inculcate working with autonomy towards a clear self-position, be it as an entrepreneur, a design lead or as an independent creative practitioner. The course combines best practices from art and design methodologies, which then allows the student a complex navigation between exploring, conceptualizing and translation. The common values of art and design lie in rigorous understanding and embracing of thinking and making practices using tools like mapping, systems understanding, making informed choices about materials and processes and translating the abstract into tangible form etc. The artistic practice allows one to develop sensibilities exploring multiple materials, techniques and technologies, craft and mass manufacturing industries leading to a rigorous search for form and content. The program opens up possibilities to establish a dialogue between multiple media, materiality and conceptual rigor. The course allows you to build a creative practice based on the previous education and experiences, without abandoning the same. The overall learning experience helps you leverage past education to move to a position where you are able to lead, drive and manage, rather than start afresh in any new field. If you see yourself as a creative textile designer or artist, if you are keenly interested in the way products are envisaged, used and valued, if you would like to influence the way people use furniture in the future, we help you construct frameworks to realize your potential and vision. Students are required to submit their design output and a mandated thesis document. Students are mentored during this final project and go through seminars to get feedback from faculty and peer groups Learning Approaches Integrated and focused approach to design and making, which empowers one to develop creative solutions, alongside challenges involved in working with materials and processes, industry and commercialization. Master of Technology in Infrastructure Engineering Design Faculty of Technology – CEPT University Infrastructure is an integral part of society and plays a vital role in its economic and social development. In a developing country like India, infrastructure development has become an integral part of our growth story creating a strong need for professionals in the infrastructure sector. The primary objective of M. Tech in Engineering Design (Infrastructure) (MIED) is to cater to this demand of infrastructure industry and produce professionals with specific skill sets aligned with industry needs. The two-year program leading to award of Master of Technology in Infrastructure Engineering Design is designed to enhance skills & knowledge of structural design for the students and working professionals in the construction and civil engineering sector. Curriculum MIED program aims to combine infrastructure engineering and design enabling students to add complementary aspects such as infrastructure planning, financing, and management. A student potentially can develop focus through verticals and horizontals. Vertically, the sector is of primary interest and the choice of focus area follows. Alternatively, a student could develop skills horizontally, in which the focus area is of primary interest covering more than one sector. The course curriculum is designed to encourage students’ learning by a mix of lecture courses and hand-on application, via studio courses. The lecture courses focus on building theoretical understanding with the scope to explore its empirical application in studio courses. Major portion of the mandatory courses credits are studios courses where students work on real-life like contexts, emphasizing the importance of practice. CEPT pedagogy includes a wide variety of courses with significant emphasis on practical applications through hands-on studio courses projects (deigned to create real-life like situations) and independent dissertation. Leading infrastructure professionals are invited to deliver guest lectures and engage in interactive discussions with students. Admissions and Prerequisites In the first stage of scrutiny, all applications received will be scrutinized for eligibility based on information provided in the online application forms. All candidates who meet eligibility criteria will be considered for stage 2 (entrance exam). Subsequently, a shortlist of 300-350 candidates are cleared for the stage which includes interviews (in person or via tele conference). Final merit list is prepared based on the academic performance in UG program, score in entrance exam, score in interview, and total months of professional experience. Applicants for the M.Tech. program in the general category should have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories should have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering / Construction Technology / Architecture / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University / Institution. International Entry Requirements CEPT’s guiding principal for International Admissions is to seek equivalence between International standards achieved and those of Indian home students. There are differences between Europe, America and India in degree length, academic standards and award structure. CEPT will therefore consider each International application on its merits seeking international equivalence and bearing in mind any professional requirements that these Programs have. [-]

The Master Programme of Interior Architecture offers students expertise in interior layout and design. The programme aims to provide interior architects with the ability to create aesthetic, functional and sustainable solutions, using their high standard of professional knowledge and based on a strong background in design. Architecture demands that students develop their “creative skills”. It also requires that students develop their cultural background. Students will, therefore, be asked to participate in various cultural activities and develop their entrepreneurial capacities. All the efforts will be spent in order to make their education a colorful one. Traditional architecture and building techniques occupy a part of the curriculum. But students will also be taught today’s techniques and materials. Each student will be expected to have acquired a good skill in computer-aided-design by the time of his graduation. Together with other skills, each student will have reached the capacity of finding an employment abroad easily. This is demanded by the current relationships of Turkey with the European Union and the international arena of architecture. A good knowledge of the history of civilizations, arts, architecture and finally of modern and contemporary architecture is considered as a must, or a prerequisite of, successful design. The student will be brought from the past to the present, and carried to the future of the world of architecture and other design disciplines. The number of courses and their hours decrease through the years until the last semesters. On the other hand, the numbers and hours of elective courses increase in order to open the way for specialization in different fields of architecture. [-]
