Our new course will focus particularly on large-scale complex design problems relating to government buildings, corporate offices, retail malls, and hotels. The specialist requirements of healthcare and hospitality will also be studied in detail. These will be developed through studio-based design exercises in addition to workshop based skill development. The Architectural Design specialization within the M.Arch. program at the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University is an advanced design stream intended for architects to explore, experiment and critically reimagine design as a discipline, empowered by the experience of practice. The Information Design program explores the emerging challenges presented by the exponential production of data, from graphic representation to the conceptualization of innovative services based on data, information, and knowledge. It uses principles resulting from studies carried out in visual identity, and more particularly in graphic semiotics, signage and cartographic representations of information.

Within the MDes Food Design & Brand, the focus is made on the evolution of eating habits and brand identity through the creation of all signs and uses of consumer goods. Specific knowledge in food anthropology, marketing, technology, methodology, etc are learned and tested through projects with industrial partners.

Objects that ‘behave’ and ‘communicate’ have rapidly moved from the realm of science fiction to our homes, shelves, and pockets. Products are no longer static but are expected to interact, inform and guide. In a similar vein, data is now available in quantities larger than was imagined in the recent past. Patterns have to be seen and conveyed, often interactively in real-time.

We facilitate design and art professionals of the future, who can work in multiple contexts, make complex connections, lead and manage change. Participatory action research for solid waste management at Gubbi - Karnataka

Public spaces are interior and exterior spaces, as well as permanent and impermanent spaces, for movement and passage; encounter and exchange; as well as entertainment and leisure. These spaces go beyond the physical and into the realms of the virtual, social, cultural, and emotional. In India, where tradition and modernity coexist in layered complexity, these spaces include streets and pavements; parks, maidans, and bagaans; railway stations and metro stations; shopping malls and bazaars; exhibitions, museums and gallery spaces. Indian cities face the constant struggle to design, maintain and improve the inhabitation of public spaces and their qualities, not just in urban areas but also in peri-urban areas. A successful and liveable city, therefore, needs to have a network of well-designed and inclusive public spaces.... [-]

We preserve and transmit culture, language and all historical record, whether myth or real, using the power of narrative. Narrative or stories that are not just the oral and the written, but in art, in dance, music, and drama, embracing philosophy, history, politics, the environment and the social sciences.

The Information Arts and Information Design Practices Course at Srishti will explore the idea that all data is narrative. Information is narrative, but with purposefulness. Identity and information environments are intrinsically linked.

Stories craft our identity, they heal, inform, challenge and are the stuff of which our lives are made of. While visualization, interpretation, and communication of data have been largely the focus of the field of Information arts and design around the world, at Srishti we dig deeper to engage with ethics, conflicts, politics, hidden realities and debates around data and information. How can art, design, and technology be used to push the boundaries of information and create points for action? What can traditional practices from different cultures offer to the interpretation of contemporary data? Where can art and science meet to activate alternative research? How does one train at a reflective self in relation to the world to be a storyteller who mines diverse data to arrive at deeper truths? These and more questions serve as a guide map to engaging with and creating within this program.
