It aims to provide training in a range of approaches, introducing tools and techniques relevant to today’s music making, and encouraging exploration, innovation and experimentation. Why this programme Students undertake a major portfolio of creative practice with an accompanying critical commentary, preparing them for compositional and musical careers. Students have the opportunity of a placement with a musical or arts organisation, when available, and up-to-date research skills provision in digital arts. We offer the opportunity to have your work performed by a professional ensemble, including an annual showcase of postgraduate work SoundThought. Our facilities include a Concert Hall, three studios, an audio lab, and practice rooms.  Provision of specialist tuition in creative industries and cultural policy at the Centre for Cultural Policy Research. We have a range of modern and historical keyboard instruments including two Steinway Model D grand pianos, an 1840s Broadwood grand piano, a Classical forte-piano, and two harpsichords. Introduction This Master’s program was designed and offered for the first time in the school year 2007–2008 as part of the ECMCT (European Course for Musical Composition and Technologies), the Leonardo da Vinci European project. This project aims to define contents and methodologies at a high level for a post-graduate course based on the latest technologies. This project was developed in collaboration with prestigious European institutions specializing in this field: IRCAM (Paris), Technische Universität (Berlin), Universität der Künste (Berlin), Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler (Karlsruhe and Weimar), Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), Muzyka Centrum Art Society (Krakow), Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Tallinn). The current Master’s in Musical Composition with technologies draws on the experience and covers many different technical aspects and specialized programs, as well as concepts and techniques inherent in the creation and structuring of a well elaborated musical discourse. This discourse includes both the aspects of the instrumental writing and the technology. This is a two-year study programme of 120 ECTS. The MA-programme in music composition provides the student the means to establish and develop his/her area of speciality as a composer. The student can choose from different modules regarding musical theory, electro-acoustics, instrumentation and composition to support his/her field. In addition, with the aim of developing the students professional skills, the student can choose from programmes in entrepreneurship, project management or artistic reflective research. Master of Music Electronic Composition

 

Through The Danish Institute for Electronic Music (DIEM), the Academy is the only place in Denmark that offers several study programmes within electronic music. Study programmes function in concert with other music academy study programmes and the demands on students in e-music are high. The genre of electronic music includes both classical and rhythmic traditions allowing an endless space for creativity when composing music. At the same time, it builds a bridge between two latter genres at the Academy. The MMus (Electronic Composition) degree course at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, is a course during which students acquire specialist knowledge, skills, and qualifications to become electronic composers at the highest level and driving forces in music business. The master's degree also prepares students for postgraduate studies at soloist or PhD level.The course structure has a constant focus on the Composition/Production subject.
