Masters in Nanotechnology. About program The constant tendency to reduce the size and increase the degree of integration of (nano-) electronic and (nano-) photonic systems inevitably leads to the need to consider the quantum corrections. On the one hand, the role of quantum effects may be negative, imposing fundamental dimension restrictions on the ability of a broad class of devices, such as transistors, to work in a regular mode. On the other, the laws of quantum mechanics allow us to construct new element base for a variety of devices that can process, store, encode, and transmit information using methods, which are qualitatively different from the currently existing. It is expected that in the coming decades, quantum technologies will revolutionize such fields of knowledge as computers, cryptography, and computer science.
