The activities related to the preparation of the final examination for the achievement of the LM will be carried out by the student under the supervision of a tutor during the training period at a research laboratory University or a highly qualified body under an agreement with the University biomolecular .
The final exam, which involves the acquisition of 13 credits, consists of the discussion, in open session, of an exclusively experimental thesis and which brings an original contribution, prepared under the guidance of a teacher of the course with LM, as rapporteur. The dissertation may be written in Italian or English and must have the typical form of a complete scientific work in terms of general organization (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables and Figures). The Master's Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology provides a state-of-the-art education based on a solid scientific background. What students learn here is put into practice through internships in companies and/or in research labs in Belgium or abroad. The Institute of Biology at UMONS is involved in international research projects in fields like microbiology, cell biology, and proteomics.
