A popular graduate degree for students who want to learn more is a master’s. Students can develop greater insight and knowledge about specific areas in their fields of study, which helps prepare them for a career.
What is a Master in Cell Biology? This program is designed for students who want to delve into the area of molecular biology. Students can typically choose from a number of different topics, which may include immunology, cancer, contemporary biophysics, chemical biology, microbiology, plant biology, stem cell biology, or pharmacology. Specific classes may include molecular genetics, molecular biology of DNA, mammalian gene transfer, bioethics, advanced genetics, developmental biology, neurobiology, or immunopathology. Students learn in both classroom and laboratory environments, and most curriculums include the development of a research thesis.
There are numerous benefits for those who pursue this advanced degree. Some skills that may be developed include critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
When it comes to choosing a college, students should understand that tuition can differ greatly from one school to another. Students should call and inquire about tuition and other fee requirements as well as if there are scholarships, grants, or other financial aid options available.
Individuals who earn their master’s degree in cell biology are eligible for a variety of careers in medicine, botany, biotechnology, and genetics. Some specific job titles may include molecular biologist, biology teacher, laboratory technologist, research specialist, and cellular biologist. Employers may include healthcare facilities, universities, private laboratories, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, or the government. For even more career opportunities, some may choose to continue on and pursue their doctorate degree.

The LM course in Molecular and Cellular Biology aims to supplement the basic knowledge, acquired through the Bachelor's degree in Biology, in some key areas of the biological sciences and to provide advanced preparation and operational framework at the level of biological phenomena cellular, sub-cellular and molecular. In particular, the LM course has the objective to provide a preparation ... [+]
The activities related to the preparation of the final examination for the achievement of the LM will be carried out by the student under the supervision of a tutor during the training period at a research laboratory University or a highly qualified body under an agreement with the University biomolecular .
The final exam, which involves the acquisition of 13 credits, consists of the discussion, in open session, of an exclusively experimental thesis and which brings an original contribution, prepared under the guidance of a teacher of the course with LM, as rapporteur. The dissertation may be written in Italian or English and must have the typical form of a complete scientific work in terms of general organization (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables and Figures). The decision of the Commission of Science will be formulated according to procedures defined in the Academic Regulations for the Course.... [-]
