A masters is earned after students complete an undergraduate degree program. To obtain a masters, you usually need to complete 12 to 18 college courses that often involve completing comprehensive tests and/or a thesis.

In all, there are over 4000 Higher Education Institutions in Europe offering a wide range of courses at Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate level. With more and more of these organizations offering English as the language of education for at least some of their degree programs, universities in Europe are now of higher quality than ever before. Universities in Europe offer a friendly welcome to foreign students and to give a course of knowledge that meets their profession needs in today’s global demand.

The objective of the Master's Degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of contemporary astronomy, both in terms of the constituents of the universe and the most current observational techniques used in the exploration of the cosmos. It covers theoretical and technical aspects related to the most advanced technologies, the use of detectors and the analysis of the data obtained.... [-]

Master's degree in astrophysics

Universidad de La Laguna
Campus Full time 3 semesters September 2019 Spain Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The exceptional atmospheric conditions for the highest quality astronomical observations in the Canary Islands, together with their geographical proximity and good connection with Europe, justify the presence of the European Observatory of the Northern Hemisphere (ENO). This fact, together with the consequent concentration of professors and researchers around the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, the Department of Astrophysics of the ULL and the Observatories, generates an ideal environment for the development of a Master in Astrophysics in which direct contact with prestigious professionals supposes an exceptional added value. The Master has been designed based on a wide and rigorous offer of subjects, options and itineraries that are concreted in three specialties: "Specialty in Theory and Computation", "Specialty in Observation and Instrumentation" and "Structure of Matter". Is GRAPPA in Amsterdam the track for me?

The GRAPPA track is for ambitious students interested in gravitation, astroparticle and particle physics. You are intrigued by both the subatomic scale (e.g. the Standard Model, particle interactions) and the largest scales (e.g. astrophysical objects, the Universe), and are particularly interested in combining the two to address some of the biggest puzzles in science. Furthermore, you:... [-]

Master's Degree in Advanced Physics and Applied Mathematics (MFMA)

Universidad de las Islas Baleares - UIB
Campus Full time 1 year September 2019 Spain Palma

What does it consist of?

The objective of the Master's Degree in Advanced Physics and Applied Mathematics (MFMA) is to provide advanced training, aimed especially at those undergraduates who aspire to do a PhD later.

It treats therefore of a Master oriented fundamentally to the investigation. This requires a structure that makes it possible to specialize in some research areas of special quality. The UIB has the mention of Campus of International Excellence, which includes the line of Physics, Computing and Applications. This line includes certain research groups, which over time have been developing a work of first international level. That is why five specialties are offered, directly linked to these groups: Astrophysics and Relativity, Geophysical Fluids, Materials Physics, Quantum Systems and Applied Mathematics.... [-]
