The teaching program is affiliated to the three Faculties: Social Sciences, Law, and Humanities. The teaching language is English. In addition to basic and methodological courses as well as simulations, obligatory to all participants, the program offers five specialization tracks over a period of two years:

In the M.A. in Israel Studies program, you’ll examine the historical processes that led to the creation of today’s Israeli society, the complicated relationships between the various groups that live side by side within the boundaries of the State of Israel, and the ways in which Israel copes with these challenges domestically and abroad. This prestigious program is offered by Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) in conjunction with the Department of Political Science and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

Using the M.A. track offered at the Melton Centre as a strong base, we have developed a blended On-Site and Distance MA Program (non-research intended for students’ resident overseas) in Jewish Education, which is offered to Jewish educators in Jewish communities around the world. Offered by Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) in conjunction with the Mandel Institute of Jewish Studies, the M.A. in Jewish Studies program is designed to provide you with up-to-date knowledge in the field of Jewish studies in preparation for an advanced academic degree.

Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) offers a two-year M.A. program in the Bible and the Ancient Near East. This program focuses on contemporary Biblical studies (Hebrew scriptures) and provides grounding in both Biblical Hebrew and Akkadian, with the option to study Modern Hebrew at the beginner through advanced levels.

Offered by Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) in conjunction with the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, the M.A. in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies is an intensive, integrated program designed for students who wish to study the religion, politics, society, history, and culture of the Middle East.

American Studies Master program has been specially designed for those interested in developing a career as an American Expert. It aims to provide multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary courses, adopting modern approaches of many American universities.

This English-language MA reflects the requirements of social cohesion as well as the labour market and is aimed at building state institutions in a harmonious society. Taking into consideration the specificity of the Caucasus region, the programme will train qualified and competitive specialists in the following disciplines: Anthropology, Linguistics, Political Science, and International Relations.

The International Master’s Degree Program in Israel Studies offers students the opportunity for an in-depth study of the state of Israel: its history, complex society, multicultural character and relationships with the Jewish Diaspora. Aligning the unprecedented growth of programs, research centers, and chair endowments in Israel Studies in North America and Europe, our program is designed for students who wish to broaden their understanding of Israeli society from a variety of perspectives, including Aliyah and migration, economics, politics, culture, religion, and the ties between Israel and Jewish communities abroad.

The International MA Program in Maritime Civilizations offers students an exceptional opportunity to explore the history, archaeology, and fabric of maritime societies, as well as the natural environment in which they developed and the anthropogenic environments in which they currently exist.
