The MA in African Studies is a year-and-a-half-long Program (three semesters). The first year is dedicated to formal study and coursework at BGU. Students must finish their required and electives classes over the course of two semesters during this first year. During the third semester, students must spend a minimum of three months on a local project in Africa.

Since the turn of the millennium religious ideas and identities have increasingly shaped national and international politics, especially in the Middle East. This online MA program – led by Prof. Jonathan Fox, one of the world’s foremost experts in the field – provides a unique platform for understanding the role of religion in contemporary politics. We explore the potential of religions to unite and divide societies, to exacerbate conflict, or provide frameworks for peace. Whether you are planning a career in academia, policy research, diplomacy, conflict resolution, or the clergy, or whether you simply have a passion to understand the social forces that shape our world, this program is for you. This two-year, online MA program will provide you with a deep academic grounding in religious and Middle Eastern politics as well as in general political science. The program is taught entirely in English by leading experts. There are approximately six hours of online teaching each week, and the program is open to students anywhere in the world. We consider both religious politics and Middle Eastern politics important topics of study within political science. This program uniquely combines these topics, which include a broad survey of Middle Eastern politics as well as religious politics both in the Middle East and outside of the Middle East. At the same time, we provide courses that cover basic political science theory and methodology. Thus, while this course of study has a unique focus, it will also provide a broad foundation in the general discipline of political science. Bar-Ilan University’s Political Science Department is uniquely situated to provide this course of study. Its faculty is part of a 40+ year tradition of expertise and excellence in religious and Middle Eastern politics and includes world-class researchers and instructors on these topics. The Department of Asian Studies currently offers an English-language graduate program in the China section only. The MA program includes a wide variety of courses on Chinese history, archaeology, philosophy, intellectual history, political thought, traditional China’s interaction with Asian and European cultures, as well as culture, society, and politics in traditional, modern, and contemporary China.

Japan-Global Development program (JGDP) is a newly established two-year master’s program to provide students the opportunity to learn universal development and growth logic in the fields of politics, economy and management, using Japan’s experiences in economic development and corporate growth as basic case materials. The JGDP was jointly developed by JICA and IUJ under the JICA-DSP.* *JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Development Studies Program (JICA-DSP) ”JICA-DSP” is a program that invites future leaders from partner countries to Japan to complete master’s or doctor’s degrees at Japanese graduate schools, where they learn about Japan’s experiences with its own modernization and development experience with Japanese development cooperation to other countries. JICA and universities in Japan jointly built and offer the JICA-DSP. Students will not only study in their respective academic fields, but will also learn much from modern Japan’s experience of development, which differs significantly from the history of growth and development found in the West. Students can study the “Japanese experience” systematically, including even negative ones, so that they may use this knowledge to contribute to the development of their own countries.

Zhejiang University (ZJU) is the first in China to grant a master's degree in China Studies approved by the Ministry of Education. Compared to similar programs in the country, the Master of China Studies (MCS) program has the largest enrollment, with the most complete curriculum and the most extensive international cooperation. It is a model brand of ZJU in high-level international education. In November 2014, the Zhejiang University Institute of China Studies (ICS) was established.

Throughout the Master International Design Strategy / China Studio students will learn to decipher the local behaviors and understand the Chinese market to offer a coherent project, adapted to users, with an anthropological approach to design. This program is a stepping stone to an international designer career.

The MA in Asian Art Histories programme cultivates a new generation of art historians, curators, art writers, and exhibition-makers. It is a global pioneer to focus on Asian modern and contemporary art histories.

The mission of the program is to enable students both to see and to assess the forces underlying continuity and change in American foreign policy. Courses included in the program will provide conceptual, theoretical, and historical components appropriate for students to do theoretical research in American Foreign Affairs.

Master Program in Hakka Language and Literature of the Department of Hakka Language and Social Sciences was established in August 2004. We enrolled ten students every year, targeting at people who like to address themselves to Hakka language and literature studies.

The College of Liberal Arts, Journalism, and Communication at OUC offers this Master’s of China Studies program for international students with a keen interest in China who hope to broaden their previous studies or experiences of China, and for those who may have had little exposure to China in their studies to date and are limited by their Chinese language ability. It also aims to equip advanced, specialized personnel with a sophisticated and comprehensive understanding of China.

Our International Master’s program in Jewish Studies offers a unique combination of Judaic Studies incorporating Biblical and Talmudic Studies, alongside Jewish History, Philosophy, and Mysticism. From the Biblical era to early Modern Era, our students expand their knowledge in Biblical Studies, the Dead Sea Scrolls, early and late Antiquity, the Middle Ages, early Modern, and Modern Jewish History and Thought. Our study program is divided into three chronological cohorts: Biblical; Antiquity (Rabbinics); and Medieval through the Modern period, and enables participation in other International School programs such as Israel Studies, Holocaust Studies, Hebrew or Arabic.
