A long-range crop The breeding of aquatic species has not stopped growing. It is an activity that generates food, raw materials, and industrial products all over the world, but which in Mexico takes on special importance since it is one of the five countries with the greatest biodiversity on the planet. With more than 5.1 million square kilometers of marine surface alone, our country has a potential based on hundreds of plant and animal species. Thanks to this, the study of organisms from microalgae to fish allows the production of food more efficiently, both for the national market and for export. And because generating knowledge in the field of genetics, molecular biology, virology, among many others, is a permanent need for this sector, higher education institutions assume their role of providing tools to promote and strengthen it. Accordingly, the Master of Science in Aquaculture trains qualified people who, from the academic, governmental, or productive sectors, promote the growth of this sector. The knowledge that is developed in the coming years will be decisive to increase the quality of the food and products that we offer to Mexico and the world. -
