About

The Master in Special Education responds to a need for training in the field of special education of different professionals in the educational field.

The schedule in which it is given during is between 15:30 and 21:30, from Monday to Thursday, the assistance to the training centers being developed, generally, in the morning, from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 and 14.00, for continuous days until end.

The main objectives that the Master's Degree in Special Education seeks to achieve are specified as follows:

  • Acquire advanced, specialized and interdisciplinary training for professional and investigative performance in the different areas of Special Education.
  • Train for the promotion and improvement of the educational response in coordination with the different professionals, seeking to improve the quality of life of the person with functional diversity.
  • Know the evaluation and intervention procedures within the different functional diversities: physical, sensorial and intellectual.
  • Address effectively the special educational needs of people with functional diversity in school, family and social settings. • Acquire the ability to transfer knowledge from the scientific field to educational contexts in order to convert it into knowledge applicable to Special Education.

Recipients

Students who meet any of the requirements listed below will be able to access this University Master :

  • Graduates in Pedagogy, Teaching in Early Childhood Education, Teaching in Primary Education, Social Education, Psychology, Speech Therapy.
  • Graduates in Pedagogy, Psychology and Psychopedagogy.
  • Diplomas in Social Education, Speech Therapy and in any of the Teaching specialties.

In the event that the demand is greater than the supply of places, the candidates will be valued according to the previous order and also considering the academic record (70%) and the professional experience in the field of knowledge of the Master (30%).

If there are available places, those university graduates who prove training and professional experience linked to special educational needs may access, after evaluating their academic and professional record.

Non-Spanish speaking foreign applicants must prove an absolute command of the Spanish language.

  • As a professional outlet, it enables to design and apply evaluation and intervention programs for people with functional diversity (intellectual, sensory and physical) of all ages, from early care to the transition to adulthood in different professional settings.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . in case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or permission of access granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
