Recipients

The University Master's Degree , intended for both national and foreign students, requires a graduate or bachelor's degree in Hispanic Philology or an equivalent degree.

Students whose mother tongue is not Spanish will be required to accredit a level of proficiency in Spanish equivalent to a level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Why study this master?

The growing demand for knowledge of the Spanish language throughout the world, both for commercial and cultural reasons, requires the training of numerous teachers who can effectively and qualifiedly exercise this teaching, both inside and outside our country.

The training of a good teacher of Spanish as a second language requires not only his pedagogical training, but also research in this area, since it will be essential in the exercise of his professional activity to know the advances that are produced in it. For this reason, this University Master's Degree, aimed at a comprehensive professional training of the student, pays attention both to their academic and pedagogical preparation and to their research training in the framework of teaching Spanish as a second language.

The student who is taking this University Master will be able to exercise other professional activities, in addition to teaching Spanish as a second language, since they will be able to train new teachers of Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, or they will be able to direct and manage Spanish courses, as well as cultural advisory work in the Hispanic world, editorial advice, creation of teaching materials, translation, etc. This University Master's Degree is necessary for the training of specialist teachers in the teaching of Spanish as a second language and for the training of Hispanists. It also enables access to doctoral studies.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees during the course in which the pre-registration is carried out and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before the date established in the corresponding call (see href = "https: //www.ucm.es/requisitos-de-admision-a-masteres ).
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
