goalsProvide students with philosophical knowledge about the philosophical devices from which Spanish and Ibero-American societies have been formed and their relationship with other European, Atlantic and world philosophical fields.
Train students to know the true world dimension of Spanish and Ibero-American cultures and their meaning, their ratio and symbolic order, their style and the philosophical bases of their institutional arrangements, the ways in which they transformed traditional philosophical legacies and generated your own sense of identity.
Transmit the knowledge of the great mental transformations of these societies and of the decisive stages of their historical experience as reflected in their thinking, their specificity within modern experiences, the sense of globalization that they propose and the way in which they recognize, treat or fight with otherness.
Achieve that the student conforms a critical look on the processes of construction of the Spanish and Ibero-American identity, and allow him to enunciate critical questions about its normative base, its epistemological foundation and its adequate conceptual transmission within the History of Philosophy. .
This Master's Degree must promote the educational and cultural values of peace and the spirit and the letter of the laws, specifically, Decree 3/2007 for the effective equality of women and men, Decree 51/2003 of equal opportunities , non-discrimination and universal accessibility for people with disabilities, and Decree 27/2005 promoting education and a culture of peace. In reality, we firmly believe that these are some of the driving ideas from which the Master's Degree is developed, whose commitment to the fundamental regulatory structures that the modernity process has chosen is firm. This view constitutes the critical arsenal from which the problem of the historical-philosophical evolution of the self-consciousness of Iberian societies is addressed. The fact that it devotes special attention to postcolonial processes expressly and in all compulsory subjects confirms the idea of this commitment. The problem of postcoloniality encompasses in a certain way the set of matters that have to do with the elimination of all kinds of subalternism, whether it occurs within family structures, whether national or international. Only upon overcoming this subordinate vision of the other can a culture of cooperation be given, which still awaits the future of Iberian societies.RecipientsThe character of this University Master's Degree is academic-researcher and basically attends to the existing demand to acquire specialized and interdisciplinary training in Philosophy. Why study this master? This University Master's Degree allows access to the research period of the PhD Program of the Faculty of Philosophy, and allows complementing the knowledge acquired by students in related areas, given the often multidisciplinary nature of philosophical studies.Admission requirements for mastersNon-enabling university mastersBe in possession of any of the following titles:Spanish official university degree .
