The University Master's Degree in Research in Letters and Humanities (MUILH) is an official university master's degree adapted to the new university regulations and the European Higher Education Area and has been accredited by the ANECA Quality Agency. It is aimed at training in advanced research in the branch of knowledge of Arts and Humanities, with studies in the subjects of Spanish Philology and Philologies in modern languages: English-French-German-Italian, History, Art History, Geography and Organization of the Territory, Philosophy and, in general, all those related to Literature and Humanities.

Since its verification in 2009, the master has trained hundreds of students in research in the branches of Letters and Humanities, who have been able to start their doctoral studies at any Spanish or European university.
One of the characteristics of this official University Master's Degree is its multidisciplinarity, since it involves up to six university departments and numerous areas that develop multiple lines of research in which any student of the areas of Letters can be integrated. The theoretical activity of the master is concentrated in the first semester (from October to February), leaving for the second semester the completion of the Master's Thesis of 18 ECTS and 12 ECTS of training seminars.
It is interesting for foreign students, especially Latin Americans, the possibility of completing their face-to-face training during the first semester (October-February) and doing the rest, including the defense of the Master's Final Project, by electronic means.Training objectivesThe general objective of the Master is to enable the students of this center and the entire university community to complete their undergraduate and graduate studies through a quality postgraduate degree, which provides the student with specialized training in research in the different areas of Arts and Humanities .
This Master has a research character and is intended to train researchers in the different areas of the Arts and Humanities Branch, based on the resources of the teaching staff of the UCLM Faculty of Letters, on the potential and research experience of their groups and research projects, with the aim of offering students advanced research training, methodology and experiences in each of their scientific areas and specialties.
The Master provides a postgraduate university degree that meets the conditions for access to the Doctorate Programs approved at the UCLM or other Spanish and European universities, according to the current regulations on Doctorate studies, and serves as a platform for further studies leading to obtaining the title of Doctor by the UCLM. This master's degree is the natural continuation of higher studies for those students with a vocation for research in any of the areas that are proposed. The Branch of knowledge of Arts and Humanities, includes subjects such as History, Art History, Geography and Spatial Planning, Philologies, Modern Languages, Spanish Language, Classical Languages, Linguistics, Theory and History of Literature, Ethics, Philosophy, Anthropology or Sociology. The master's degree includes lines of research related to these subjects and interdisciplinary studies.
It is a suitable master's degree for those who want to start research that involves interdisciplinarity. This master's degree provides specialization of studies and research training through the existence of two specific mentions in Philological Studies and in Historical Research, Art and Territory. The student admitted to the Master will be assigned a tutor professor, linked to any of the lines of research and Master's Thesis, who will guide him in the selection of activities and works that allow him to better train and optimally acquire the skills of the Master.
The specific access criterion is to be a Graduate or Graduate in any of the current and future degrees in the Arts and Humanities branches of both the Faculty of Letters and the UCLM and any other Spanish or foreign university.
Graduates with another professionalizing University Master's degree also have direct access (such as the University Master's Degree in Professor of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate) to which a procedure for the recognition of credits taken by previous studies can be applied taking into account the skills already acquired. Both 300-credit bachelor's degrees as well as Master's degree graduates or students with previous postgraduate studies can be given credit recognition for previously studied subjects by examining their records and taking into account the effective skills previously acquired.
