Master in Marketing and Corporate Communication

The Master in Marketing and Corporate Communication of the Universidad San Jorge integrates the academic, specialized and professional training of two key areas for companies in the multimedia and online environment of the digital society. Both areas provide adequate research training to join ID teams in organizations and companies. In turn, this master's degree is academically supported nationally and internationally by being "official university master" allowing the graduate access to doctoral studies.

The active learning methodologies, face-to-face and telepresential, are linked to a modular structure that allows the student to train with professors who have different profiles: managers, technical teams and researchers from key organizations in the social and economic framework. These teachers will bring news, rigor and future perspective to the studies of communication and marketing.

The graduate of the master will obtain skills for the company or organization, with which it relates, position its products or services in the market, improve internal communication, strengthen the relationship with its external audiences, integrate communication into a business model or of financing and promote plans to improve or strengthen the image and reputation.

The business sector is joined by other sectors (educational, tourism, cultural, health or the third sector) that demand a professional profile that provides ideas and solutions in a competitive, multimedia, transmedia, digital, hyperconnected and global environment.

Competencies

Master's competences in Marketing and Corporate Communication
  • Understand the contribution of marketing and corporate communication to the nature and strategic functioning of organizations, and the value of intangible assets.
  • Dimension the importance of integration in the management of the strategic planning of brand marketing (Brand) and relations with the public (Public Relations - PR) through corporate communication.
  • Perform roles and functions of management and management in marketing and communication at corporate level, in area or operational departments, or as independent professional consultants.
  • Proactively improve the professional opportunities of those who, with management experience in these areas of knowledge or undergraduate degrees, wish to develop and specialize in competencies and skills in marketing and corporate communication.
  • Identify new areas for research in these disciplines, in order to successfully face a Doctorate research period in relation to research groups in these areas of knowledge.

Practices

Master's Degree in Marketing and Corporate Communication
In order to acquire knowledge based on real practice and develop the skills acquired through the responsible exercise of professional activity, Universidad San Jorge considers it essential that its students complement classroom training with practice in the professional field, assessing it academically as part of the learning process.
This objective follows the fundamental parameters of the Bologna Process and the European Higher Education Area and responds to the vocation of the USJ to align with the needs of the social and business environment.
The system of internships in companies of the Universidad San Jorge involves the company in the training of future graduates, contributing to introduce the competences that the professional exercise contributes to the formation of the university student and to facilitate a greater company-university integration.
The internship service of Universidad San Jorge manages voluntary practices and compulsory practices. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the Service manages more than 2,000 practices in companies of students of Universidad San Jorge , which are taught by students of all grades and postgraduate programs.
The curricular practices in the Master's Degree in Marketing and Corporate Communication follow the guidelines provided in the teaching guide of the module "External Practices": One of the strategic pillars within the Master's Degree in Marketing and Corporate Communication is the deep relationship and integration of the contents theoretical-practical and professional competences through supervised activities and tasks within an external entity. This approach offers the student the possibility of developing these skills during the program in a real professional environment. The internship will be supervised by a professional tutor in the destination entity and an academic tutor from the University itself.
