Presentation and Objectives
This Master is designed for university students from China or who speak this language and aspire to teach Mandarin Chinese in Spain and Latin America. The Master is taught in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona. The practical part is carried out in teaching centers and companies in Barcelona and Madrid with which a collaboration agreement has been reached. These practices will consist in the teaching of Chinese Mandarin language initiation classes to students of various educational levels or to workers of companies. These aspiring professors, in period of practices, will receive at all times the support and advice of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation.
Objectives of the course
Mandarin Chinese has gained significant relevance, due to the importance of trade relations between China and Spanish-speaking countries such as Spain, and the Spanish-speaking population of the United States. And in the specific case of Latin America, China has become one of its main international investors.
In this sense, the Master provides teachers with a theoretical knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, and the methodology used for teaching them in Spanish-speaking societies.

The Master's program consists of 60 ECTS, which are distributed as follows:
Program in Madrid (José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation)
- Spanish for teachers (5 ECTS).
- The teaching of second languages (5 ECTS).
- Literature, cinema and art in the classroom (4 ECTS).
- Western culture and its use in the classroom (4 ECTS).
- Master's Thesis (6 ECTS).
Program in Barcelona
- Introduction to Chinese and the teaching of the Chinese language (3 ECTS).
- Chinese linguistics and applied linguistics (10 ECTS).
- Pedagogy of Chinese and teaching of second languages (11 ECTS).
Internships (Madrid or Barcelona)
They will be carried out in different educational centers and companies in Madrid and Barcelona.
Permanency Regulations (IUIOG)
Students enrolled in the IUIOG's own degree programs have two examinations (ordinary / extraordinary) per subject in each academic year and must complete the studies, at most, in two academic years counted from their first enrollment.
Convocation of grace
In exceptional cases, the student may request, through an instance addressed to the Academic Directorate of IUIOG, the granting of one year of grace that allows him to enroll in the degree in order to reach the established controls.
The Call for Grace Application must be presented in the academic year immediately after the year in which the permanence ends and must demonstrate and demonstrate that special circumstances have occurred that have prevented the student from having a full dedication to the studies.
The Academic Committee will resolve previous report of the Academic Direction of the Program and will communicate to the student / a for its effects.
