About

The Master in Logistics and Economic Defense Management was created with the aim of meeting a socially and economically relevant need, which is to provide the necessary knowledge so that the logistics, budgetary and contractual management processes related to the field of defense are carried out in in the most efficient and effective way possible.

The Master's Degree is mainly aimed at both civilian and military professionals located at intermediate levels, and who can reach high-level management positions, both in the Administration and in large companies related to the Defense Industry. It is also aimed at people interested in this field and who wish to develop their professional career in the subject of the Master.

For professionals belonging to the Armed Forces, it is a matter of providing advanced training that, on the one hand, complements the experience acquired throughout their careers and, on the other, expands theoretical and practical knowledge in new areas of knowledge that are estimated of the maximum interest for an adequate development of the profession. The need to have a postgraduate degree for promotion to the job of Lieutenant Colonel / Frigate Captain, established by the new Military Career Law, provides the Master with added interest for these professionals.

As for professionals in the private sector, it is considered that the Master will provide them with solid training in very specific areas in which the offer of this is scarce in Spain, providing them with a series of highly useful knowledge, especially in those companies. whose activity is directly or indirectly related to the Public Sector and in particular Defense

A second objective is aimed at facilitating the understanding of the specific needs of the Armed Forces and making communication between business managers and public procurement managers more fluid.

This Master is the result of collaboration between the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Ministry of Defense, through CESIA (Center for Advanced Studies of the Army Intendency).

Acquisition by the student of a solid theoretical-practical training in defense logistics and economic management. The main objectives are that the student - be a recent graduate, a professional in the private sector or a professional belonging to the Armed Forces - knows all the areas of logistics, financial and contractual management in the Armed Forces, from the needs planning system and financial budgeting, up to the procedures for contracting, producing, storing and distributing defense material and providing services to military units, passing through the applicable regulations and the computer systems used in these areas.

Furthermore, regarding the professionals in the private sector, it is considered that the proposed studies will provide them with solid training in very specific areas in which the offer is scarce in Spain, while for professionals belonging to the Armed Forces it is provide advanced training that, on the one hand, complements the experience acquired throughout his career, and on the other, expands his theoretical-practical knowledge in new areas of knowledge that are considered of maximum interest for an adequate development of the profession.

Recipients

Graduates and graduates in Economic and Business Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Engineering, Political Science, and other graduates and graduates interested in areas related to Logistics and the Armed Forces, as well as officers of the Armed Forces and the Civil Guard. Requirements: Bachelor / Degree / Engineering or equivalent, with intermediate level knowledge in written comprehension of the English language.

Why study this master?

For professionals in the Armed Forces, the need to have a postgraduate degree for the promotion to employment of Lieutenant Colonel / Captain of Frigate, established by the new Military Career Law, provides the University Master's degree with an added interest for potential military students. Likewise for military personnel from other countries, it allows them a solid training in logistics and economic management coupled with a significant degree of internationalization of this field in the military field.

For recent graduates and professionals in the private sector, it provides them with useful knowledge, especially in those companies whose activity is directly or indirectly related to the public sector and, in particular, the Defense sector. The Master can thus open new employment opportunities in this particular area of the industry.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
