Introduction

The Master’s Degree in Human Rights examines the history of rights, their basis in teaching, the way they influence law and their growing presence on the international scene.

The focus and methodology of the degree program make it of particular interest for those who are involved in or who wish to become involved in research and teaching in law and other legal disciplines and for those interested in legal practice in national and international organizations specializing in the subject.

Curriculum

The curriculum outlines the subjects within the degree and their nature (basic, required, elective, etc.), the number of credits, etc. Topics are divided into subjects, which in turn are organized into modules.

The Master’s Degree in Human Rights includes 60 ECTS credits distributed in four modules; it lasts one academic year and is taught on campus.

  • Module 1: Introduction to Research (15 ECTS credits)
  • Module 2: General Education (18 ECTS credits)
  • Module 3: Electives (12 ECTS credits)
  • Module 4: Master’s Thesis Project (15 ECTS credits)

Professional Prospects

This master’s degree provides access to the doctoral degree program in Law for those who wish to enter teaching and research in the future.

The program also aims to be of use to students who wish to obtain a well-rounded education with the aim of working in the field of fundamental rights in national and international associations and institutions.

One of the priorities of the School of Law is to foster the professional development of its students. To this end, the Careers Office provides personalized attention through career guidance and different job-search processes. This helps students design their professional careers and provides them with guidance on employment opportunities when they have completed their master’s degree.

Students also have the support of the University of Navarra Business Foundation, an institution with a 25-year history of managing employment and internships for students and whose purpose is to act as a bridge between business and the University.
