Master's Scholarship: see relevant information here .AboutThe Master in Gender Studies lasts for one academic year (60 ECTS), with a compulsory common module (30 ECTS) and the choice of one of the following three specialties (30 ECTS):The aim of Health and Diversity is for students to know how to incorporate a gender perspective in the evaluation and treatment of health and disease processes.
Feminist Research Specialty has an academic-scientific orientation, to train future and future researchers in gender issues and feminist studies.
The main objective of Public Policy and Social Intervention is to train specialists in the analysis and intervention of phenomena related to inequalities between women and men in contemporary societies.This Master will serve both as a complete learning module and as an academic platform for students who decide to continue their training at the doctoral level.

goalsThis University Master in which they take part, in addition to the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology (responsible center), the Faculty of Psychology and the Institute of Feminist Research of the UCM, ensures mastery of the theoretical and technical instruments to analyze and act on problems and inequalities according to sex / gender. In this way, it will be ensured that students:
• Develop theoretical, analytical and critical capacity from a gender perspective, and understand its conjugation with other social differences.
• Master the methodological and instrumental, quantitative and qualitative theories and tools that allow you to carry out studies and research, analysis, diagnoses and action proposals.
• Train for the preparation and evaluation of Equality Plans in all types of private and public institutions.
• Deepen the knowledge and implementation of specific work areas and policies on women.
• Develop measures and actions in order to sensitize society in favor of equal opportunities.
• Encourage the study of strategies and techniques that favor negotiation and the resolution of conflicts derived from social relations between women and men.RecipientsGraduates or equivalent qualification in the areas of Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Health Sciences and Arts and Humanities. For example, graduates or equivalent qualification in Psychology, Medicine, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Journalism and the Media, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Fine Arts, Philology, History, Education, Philosophy, etc.
Students interested in Gender Studies, professionals who have worked with different social groups as social workers or in specific areas of Women or Gender, or people who show an interest and important awareness in the subject of gender equality, health, will be especially considered. with a gender perspective, health agents, gender violence, gender studies, feminism, equal opportunities, etc.Why study this master?Society demands professionals trained in the gender perspective who develop their work in associations, public and private entities and organizations, companies, etc., incorporating the gender perspective in the areas of health and diversity, public policies and social intervention, as well as in the area of feminist studies and research.
Admission requirements for masters
Non-enabling university mastersBe in possession of any of the following titles:Spanish official university degree .
Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
Or be carrying out studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees during the course in which the pre-registration is carried out and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before the date established in the corresponding call (see href = "https: //www.ucm.es/requisitos-de-admision-a-masteres ).
In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
